  • Q: I want these!  rexland076 months ago

My question is can these be made to work for an 08 WRX? Really wanna get them, I just know they are for STI’s. Could I modify my car to make them fit? Thank you very much
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The WRXs have different hubs, so the lower strut mounts of these will not bolt up unfortunately.

  • Q: Rebuild inquiry  '14HaTcHgUy1 year ago

I know you guys mentioned rebuild around 60K miles, but a buddy says its recommended to rebuild every 30K. As a daily driver, with some spirited driving here and there, what would be the recommendation? And what does a rebuild cost price wise?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I've been running mine for about ~25k miles and was dallying the car for a bulk of that. I live right outside NYC so they've had their share of sinkholes and road salt. I just pulled mine off today since the rear drivers side was about half a centimeter lower and making a slight thumping noise. I think your friend is right about rebuilding them sooner rather than later. Maybe in more consistent climates with smooth roads you can get more out of them, but north east/midwest you should expect a rebuild on the earlier side.

will this fit my 2012 sti wagon? looking at ohlins website and for some reason they dont have one for 2012 models.
  • Q: height adjustment range  decamun1 year ago

what is the height adjustment range for these coilovers?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Since there is many variations in suspension setups, there is not a exact answer. If this is a daily driver 2-3 inch drop will remove wheel gap and still be fine for daily driving. Test out different adjustments till you get where you like it.

  • Q: How long to use before rebuild needed!?  q8yphotographer2 years ago

I was wondering on how long it can be used before they need to be rebuild!? Will they be okay for a daily driven car that make approx. 20,000km/yr!? Any warranty on them!? Thank you
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There are many variables other than miles driven that contribute to wear on your coilovers. Generally, they can last from 60,000 to 100,00 miles. You will want to get them inspected after 40,000 to 50,00 miles and about every year after that to make sure they are still in good working order. These Coilovers have a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Can these also be used as a daily drive ? I want something sporty that is a upgrade from stock with better handling and not too much of a drop.

A:  These should have the drop and improvement in handling that you're looking for. We have an employee here that runs these on their daily, and they're extremely happy with them.

  • Q: Linear or Progressive   JamesL5 years ago

Are these coils linear or progressive?
  • Q: Can I substitute camber plates?  mistermct5 years ago

I've got Whiteline COM-C plates installed on OEM struts and the improvement in camber/caster is great without too much increase in NVH. Can I use them on these front struts without affecting ride height? Has anyone done this before or is this pointless if the coilovers increase NVH substantially?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There isn’t anything proprietary with the Ohlins strut, but the fastening hardware and strut dimensions are designed specifically for their camber plates. For example, both the bearing spacer and the top nut are machined to match the I.D. of the spherical bearing. If the Whiteline spherical doesn’t share the same dimensions, then a custom spacer will have to be machined to ensure a proper fit. If you would like to use the Whiteline anyway, Ohlins has supplied us with some dimensions needed: The O.D. of the pin top shaft (where the spherical would make contact) is 15mm, and the threading on the pin-top is a standard M12 fine thread. We still recommend using the top hats provided with the Ohlins struts to be sure of the proper fit and finish.

  • Q: 2015 Subaru STI Limited  Catroninc895 years ago

Will these coil overs fit my Subaru WRX STI Limited?
  • Q: Ohlins vs KW V3s  hhhp5 years ago

Hi, The KW V3s have a lifetime manufacturer warranty whereas the Ohlins have only 2 years ... why such a large difference? Also, how do the Ohlins cope with temperatures below -10C and salty roads for 5-6 months a year? Thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The manufacturer warranties are all up to the manufacturer and we have no information regarding that. In terms of life, these are a solid set that can handle the cold as well as the weather.

  • Q: Ohlins vs. Tein  SubieSTi135 years ago

I own a 13' STI Hatch and it is my daily driver. I am looking for a coilover that delivers the best track performance between this Ohlins model and the Tein MonoFlex coilovers. I don't care if the ride is hard but would I need any other supporting components for either set or can I just bolt them on to factory holes? Thank you!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Both setups are complete drop in systems which require nothing else to be run. Depending on how low the vehicle is adjusted to you may need additional suspension parts to correct and adjust alignment settings like camber.

A:  No, Unfortunately these are specific for the STi only as the WRX and STi had different suspension components on the 08+ models, so the coilovers are model specific in this case.
