The HKS Hypermax IV GT Coilovers have been crafted to provide superior handling, style, and looks to your vehicle. 

Here are some additional specs to the Hypermax IV-GT Coilovers:

Install was pretty simple. Just a few bolts to remove and install right back on. Build quality is great and these ride a bit more soft than stock. The pre-set height was low enough for me since my lip scrapes on some driveways unless I take them at an angle. An alignment was required after the install as my wheels pulled to the right. Gained a moderate difference in handling especially in corners. I'm sure once paired with some sway bars and braces, there will be a big difference.

The GT coilovers are super easy to install on the 2015 WRX. The quality is very good as well. I came from a 2012 Civic SI which I was running buddy club coils on. The spring rate on those was 8k/6k, so I was interested to see what that same spring rate would feel like on a heavier car. I think for the 2015 WRX a little higher spring rate is needed in my mind (maybe a 9k/7k - (with that in mind you might want to go with the SP if you want it to handle like it is on rails ). The ride on these coils is very good though (super quiet) and the drop is perfect. It was nice to be able to simply throw these into the car and have the stance be very good out of the box. I am including a pic of my car with about 600 miles on the suspension. I swapped wheels and tires when I did the suspension install. I am running 255/40 18 Hankook V12's. wheels are 18x9.5 +45. I set the car up with -1.6 rear and -1.4 front. no pull or roll was done to the car and no rubbing at all. I could probably run less camber both front and back and be fine.

These coilovers are well worth the price. The handling is amazing. They were really easy to install especially on the 15+ WRX. Dialing in the dampening is easy as well and I will soon be lowering it a bit more. I used to have a set of Bilstein PSS9s and these are just as good!

If you are looking for the perfect coilover for street and light duty track use, these are absolutely perfect. With the Rubber isolated uppermount they keep out most of the NHV, yet they give razor sharp handing and all the adjustability you could want. Plus they are HKS, and that's always a good thing.

    So i watched the video and it stated that HKS wants you to take out of box and install with no adjustments. How much will it lower the car if you do that?


    • A: HKS presets their coilovers to what they think is the "best" setting for the vehicle's performance. Out of the box, they should be roughly 1" lower than stock ride height.

    Okay so follow-up Q: after an alignment would you say it is necessary to have control arms with these coil overs? I'm concerned with uneven tread wear. Or will the camber difference from stock not be a huge factor.


    • A: The camber would depend on the height of the coilover after it is installed. Control arms or camber bolts are going to allow you to have some adjustment and could possibly help you bring the camber back to OEM spec.

    • A: Most coilovers will have a small change in camber as soon as they are installed and it is recommended to have an alignment done immediately after installation. You can purchase control arms to bring the car back to OEM specs.
