COBB Tuning SF Intake and Airbox
Subaru WRX/STI 2008-2014
Features & Product Details
In response to recent developments, we have decided to remove select items from sale to ensure we are compliant with all applicable emissions requirements.
The SF Intake & Airbox combo/kit includes two great products offered in a package at reduced pricing. The C.A.R.B. certified COBB Tuning SF Intake for the Subaru WRX / STI utilizes COBB's custom design to maintain optimal flow while minimizing turbulence found with many aftermarket intake systems. This configuration provides the most consistent power for everyday use while at the same time allowing some audible performance feedback!
The COBB Tuning SF Air Box was developed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkel. Constructed of 16-gauge Aluminum, the heat shield consists of a one-piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge on your 08-14 Subaru WRX STI.
Note: The COBB Tuning SF Intake system for the 2008+ models with the ll require use of specific OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided for their AccessPORT ecu tuning device.

So just an update. If you have a tune designed to hold 17 psi to redline you will notice a loss of torque below 3000 rpm after installing this intake. Heres how to get it back. The most important thing to do is completely seal and thermally insulate the Cobb box (rubber, silicone, dei thermal barrier, aluminium tape etc). Now I have a box thats fed cold air and keeps it cold. This insulation process will make it a lot quieter, think Mad Max 2 opening scene. IMO its nice to hear more of the q300. Then the other part of the torque equation is putting a smaller tyre on e.g 245/40/17. Id recommend a tyre with stiff sidewall, I chose a soft sidewall and it took a lot of tuning to get the handling better (aggressive alignment + ALK, springs, wheels, adjusting konis etc). Now im super happy with the low end, high end, and sound of the car. It is the best intake if you take the time to seal and insulate it.
So I chose this intake based on watching all the youtube intake videos. I knew this was the loudest but I noted that it was still pretty easy to hear a q300 in the background. This was not my experience. It completely dominates the q300 tbe. Im not saying that is a bad thing, but I realise I mite get sick of it in time. However, what I absolutely love is putting the fear of God into those obnoxious cyclists who take up half the road. It is so loud they must wonder if its the last sound they are ever going to hear. Funny thing is Im just doing 2800rpm (ebcs makes it kick in at 2400 rpm). Just a note on installing a ebcs in conjunction with an intake, it will cause a rapid cutting out sound at WOT.
Noticed the difference right off the back and installation was super easy. Great quality product from Cobb, extremely happy with this purchase. This with an access port and a quality exhaust system would surely enhance that Subaru rumble you love so much.
The sound difference between this and the stock intake is amazing. Between that, and the upgraded look under the hood I love this mod. I am not 100% sure about any actual performance gains though.
great sound, looks great installed. the air box keeps you from failing state inspections in some states

Q: Cobb 08 Wrx 2 years ago
I installed a bigger turbo a up pipe, down pipe, and a blow off valve. I got a Cobb Accessport and tuned it. Now I got a cold air intake and I’m wondering if I have to run it and then tune it or how to tell the Accessport that I changed it

A: If you got a pro tune in the past, adding the intake you would want a new tune. You could use one of their SF + maps with this intake, but not with your previous tune.

Q: 2017 WRX Cobb Access port and big SF intake causing turbo chatter Damon Richards 3 years ago
I’ve had the intake and big sf tune on my car for about a month. And the other day when I got on high boost it sounded like the turbo started to chatter. Don’t really see a loss in any power but it hasn’t stopped since. Usually starts around 10-12 psi. And it definitely sounds like it’s coming from the turbo/intake

A: I'm guessing what you are hearing is a bit of turbo surge, but hard to say for sure. Could you describe what you're hearing a bit more?

Q: Carb legal sticker Chris3 years ago
Prob a dumb question, but oh well... Where's the best location to place the carb legal sticker? My friend said his came off after placing it on the airbox and placed the replacement sticker on the underside of the hood.

A: Place the sticker somewhere that doesn't have extreme heat, and make sure to fully prep and clean the area with alcohol or a glass cleaner spray that doesn't have any additives that will prevent it from staying stuck.

A: This one will not work with your car. But if you have a 2015+WRX COBB SF intake it will work with any 2015+ WRX.
