Features & Product Details

A major problem when lowering a vehicles center of gravity is that most teams do not consider how this affects the factory wheel geometry and roll centers.

A change in the vehicles ride height can drastically affect the path a wheel will take through the range of suspension travel. Camber and toe can vary to a point that the car goes from over-steer, to under-steer characteristics in a mere 3mm of wheel travel.

MSI has addressed this handling issue with all Subaru Impreza's that use McPherson struts in the rear by developing a rear Subframe that corrects suspension geometry on lowered vehicles (up to 1” with factory fuel tanks in place on the standard units.)

This Subframe is manufactured using the latest technology in CNC Tub cutting as well as mandrel bending. Each unit coming off the production line is assembled in a heavy duty jig, and is then verified in a separate jig after stress relief is completed over a 24 hour cool down period.

Each frame comes with the bearings for the differential installation. As an added benefit to correct wheel geometry, this unique design will eliminate significant amounts of chassis flex in the rear end, differential knocking under hard acceleration or shifts, as well as variances in wheel alignments due to bushings changing location, flex, or deformation.

This tubular Subaru Subframe assembly will benefit any street or race car with coil-over suspension systems. The MSI Subframe is lighter than the factory assembly by 50%, while increasing the rigidity and consistency of the rear suspension system beyond what is commonly seen in the North American marketplace.

  • Q: What about a rallycross set up?  newyorkreload2 years ago

The info mentioned a 1" drop, what model number would be best for cars with a 1" lift?
    • 1 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Sorry but Mooresport doesn't offer a subframe to work with rally setups. They only have parts for lowered vehicles.

A:  Contact TSS Fab. They make parts for off-road. They have a car named the bajabaru.

  • Q: Air Suspension  DrewPat4 years ago

I assume that since this is compatible with everything that fits the factory subframe, this would have no problem being used with the AirLiftPerformance air suspension, correct? It corrects for the geometry of the suspension based on the drop from stock, so choose the one that would fit the drop i would choose at ride height, correct? And approximately how much does this unit weight? Thank you!
  • Q: Mounting options  geraldsim81448905 years ago

Most pictures of the MSI subframe I've come across feature two different mounting positions for the lateral arms, which I presume to be for stock and lowered setups. The pictures on your website seem to show only one. Is there a different variant, and how much of a drop in ride height does this subframe correct for?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This unit will correct for vehicles up to 1 drop. The other unit is their motorsports kit and can correct for a 2 drop. They offer 4 major versions of the rear-subframe. This one, the circuit/motorsport kit, a subframe that has both a 1 and 2 correction that is built in, and also a gravel spec version. If you are interested in any of the other units, we would be glad to source it for you, however we only offer this one regularly as it better suites most street cars.

  • Q: Can this be used on a daily driven vehicle with passengers? Is this the one with corrected geometry?  Izhar6 years ago

Hi, if i am planning to have this on a daily driven vehicle, would it be ok? Esp with passengers sitting on the back. Another question is if this js the version with the corrected geometry?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This unit would be fine as a daily driven piece. This unit does correct suspension geometries and mounting points for aftermarket suspension setups.

  • Q: Is this compatible if i already have cusco trailing arms and lateral links  Izhar6 years ago

Hi is this still compatible as i already have cusco trailing arms and lateral links installed on the stock rear subframe
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  MSI has not found any products that will not work with this subframe as long as they work with the stock subframe. If the part is an OE replacement part it should fit without issue.

A:  Sure thing, not a problem. If your arms work with the original frame, they will bolt right up to this one without any issues.
