Features & Product Details

Has your exhaust melted off the paint or warped your stock bumper? The APR Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper Heat Shield will hide and protect your rear bumper from getting burnt up. Unlike other exhaust heat shields for the WRX, the APR shield is made of vacuumed formed dry carbon fiber which allows for perfect factory fitment. Coated with a heat resistant epoxy coating, the heat shield will reduce fading effects from UV rays and hot exhaust fumes.

Horrible Fitment 8 years ago

Got these for my 2014 WRX and the fitment on the left side garnish does not conform to the top of the bumper at all whatsoever. The right side isn't as bad but still far from perfect fitment; the corners of the piece do not conform. The fitment would suggest a much lower price tag, maybe around 40 bucks tops. I can't see a way that these exhaust garnishes will fit correctly with what is included in the box. I might try to seal it up with something, maybe black caulk or something similar to that.

Easy to fix gap 8 years ago

Easy to install. There is a small gap around the edges in some parts. It is easily fixed by taping off the piece, and taping off the body, then using a black silicon to fill the gap. It looks great, like it is all one piece. Get these and the long exhaust hangers and you will be golden.

Fitment Issues 8 years ago

The quality of the product is amazing! I had read about the fitment issues prior to purchasing, so I purchased some carbon vinyl to put underneath the heat shields. Used an extra set of hands to install and they look great! The carbon vinyl helps a lot. A price drop would make these a great purchase

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: Invidia N1 Heat issue?  williamweir108 years ago

Hi, is there anyone running catless DP with N1 Race exhaust that has these? I'm curious if these stop the heat issue as well as the discoloration. P.S. I really wish y'all sold these individually.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  As long as the exhaust is spaced properly from the bumper there should not be an issue with heat, with or without these shields. These shields will help prevent that and we have yet to see any discoloration. Unfortunately Carbign Craft does not have an option for these units individually.

  • Q: Tow Hook  wsoghikian9 years ago

I was looking at these and noticed the nice looking tow hook on rally sport's sti. How did you guys put the tow hook back into the tow hook cover??
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We actually made a hole for a cleaner look. This is not necessary for the install of the tow hook though.

  • Q: Fitment  BBQXXX10 years ago

Can you confirm what the other poster said about fitment on your guys STi? Still run them? I am also curious how thick they are. My exhaust is literally maybe a MM or 2 away from the bumper by the inside pipe. Wondering if this would cause any issues or make it touch.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We still have them installed on our shop STi and they still look and fit fine for us. The carbon is probably 1mm thick so if your tips are that close to your bumper you may look at realigning the flanges or getting some longer hangers installed to give it more clearance. Ideally you do not want the exhaust tip resting on anything, the heat could potentially penetrate the carbon and damage the bumper underneath.

  • Q: screwed/bolted to?  refriedchocolate10 years ago

hey where do these attach to? no extra modification to make it fit? thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  They attach to the lower part of the bumper, you do need to drill 2 holes per side to secure these correctly on the under side of the bumper.
