Features & Product Details

Has your exhaust melted off the paint or warped your stock bumper? The APR Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper Heat Shield will hide and protect your rear bumper from getting burnt up. Unlike other exhaust heat shields for the WRX, the APR shield is made of vacuumed formed dry carbon fiber which allows for perfect factory fitment. Coated with a heat resistant epoxy coating, the heat shield will reduce fading effects from UV rays and hot exhaust fumes.

Nice product, needs better QC imo... 10 years ago

I got these to replace my stock STi finishers which are a thin aluminum and have some carbon stains I can't get out. I haven't installed these yet so this review is only based on visual build quality. I am disappointed with two things on the set I got: - There are too many small pits and bulges in the overall finish, more noticeable in direct sunlight. - The edge cleanup, specifically the edges which touch the car, are far from uniform. Short, but somewhat wide gaps show up on the test fit. Extra sanding to the back of mine will be required for a clean mate to the bumper. Comparing to the STi parts, it's nice to not have the screws fasten to the back of the unit making the finished look much cleaner. The downside, you need to remove, or at least lower your muffler as the screws attach deeper down the finishers. I might have gotten unlucky with my set, but if not, then the QC level needs to come up a bit to meet the price point.

Take the installation liability off your hands  10 years ago

So I got these from RSD and read some reviews that said you had to drill new holes for these and i don't like the liability factor of messing up my car. I thought it might be smart to take it down to my local subaru dealership and have them install them so any liability would be on them. It worked out quite well and it only costed $20.00 to install them at the dealership. In the end the service manager at subaru said he liked these a lot better than the heat shields they offer. Great produt!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: fitment question vs subaru exhaust finishers  hopsand194925 years ago

I have those silver exhaust finishers on my 2011 STI hatch. Will these APR shields match up to the specs of the subaru shields (cover any drill holes)?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These will fit, however, I cannot confirm if they will cover any drill holes you have made.

  • Q: Invidia n1 dual  4nate248178 years ago

Have you guys tested to fit with invidia n1 dual or will there be running issues?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We have not tested these with the N1 exhaust however, they should work and in the case that it makes contact, we have extended hangers to compensate.

  • Q: 2015 WRX   bman9 years ago

Will these exhaust finishers fit the 2015 WRX STI?
  • Q: CF Weave pattern  DanEmpireXXIII10 years ago

How does the CF weave pattern/color compare to the CF APR Front lip?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We unfortunately cannot confirm the exact color and pattern. We don't have them side by side for comparison, but based on pictures they look similar in their patter/color.

  • Q: invidia q300 fitment   EROO10 years ago

will the invidia q300 catback exhaust fit with these heat shields on? Or will I need to get the kartboy 12mm ( long ) hangers so it doesn't rub? -Thanks guys.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We currently run these with the Q300 on our STI shop car. Longer hangers should not be required, but many people will opt for longer hangers instead of adjusting the exhaust at the pivot points.
