Features & Product Details

Mishimoto is proud to announce the release of their Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can. With years of oil catch can research and development time, Mishimoto has created the most effective compact oil catch can on the market. The Mishimoto Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can was designed to separate oil particles from the PCV/CCV air that would normally have just been routed back to your intake. The internal air diverter turbulates the air longer and ensures all the oil sinks to the bottom of the can, leaving nothing but clean air to pass through the 50 micron bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle keeps the collected oil from splashing around under race conditions. This oil catch can features two ports, one inlet and one outlet, for easy installation on CCV and PCV systems.

The 100% billet, 6061 aluminum can features 3/8" NPT threads at the inlet, outlet, and drain area and includes two black nylon fittings to make installation effortless. For maximum fitment options, the top mounting setup allows the can to be mounted from multiple angles. To make maintenance easy, the drain plug can be removed to allow for a return to the oil pan. The can is also 100% washable, unlike many other cans that require you to replace your filtration system.

Great Product  9 months ago

-This is actually the second catch can I have installed on my 14 WRX. -The first is connected to the crank case vent and this one is being used on the valve covers. -They do a great job of collecting any oil/gas/water that is moving through the system. -Its a plus that the "sludge" is not being returned to the oil. I have noticed some systems recycle the nasty crap back through into the oil filler (stupid idea). -The pictures attached are from around a month of winter driving. -If you have a COBB air box (Subaru), you can just mount these cans neatly to the side so that nothing else will need to be modified on the car. -Hope this review helps someone that's looking to invest.

i have been running this thing for about 10 000 Km. Few weeks back I was I had to do some servicing on the car I noticed a very light film of oil in intrrcooler and intake. I noticed the out let hose to the intake had oil in it. So I replaced the outlet hose with a clear hose, and I noticed there is always a little puddling oil on the outlet hose so it's not doing a superb job of catching all the oil. I wouldn't say its a bad product but it is definitely not 100% effective.

Needed this badly on my Bugeye. 2 years ago

When I did my TGV deletes is when I saw how seriously I needed AOS. The damage was burnt-on-brownies on the intake ports of the heads. I relocated my drive-by-cable cruise control and used the remaining space and reworked one of the left over brackets . I did a dual set-up, one for the valve covers and one for the crank case. I kept the original plumbing configuration and just put the catch cans in series. The car is catless and stunk really bad. I was not blowing blue smoke out the exhaust but the car is now tolerable and runs much better. Then I waited way too long to empty them, 80 days and 1330 miles later. When I did empty them, the cans were full of precipitation and the baffle plate up top was full of oily foam. Now I know better and I'm going to empty them every 200-300 miles and take them apart and clean them periodically. Thank you Mishimoto for the low cost and effective solution to a real problem. 5 of 5 stars.

Hondan
Great quality. Happy with it so far. It's a universal part so the "ease of install" box below doesn't really apply. I would only change the hose fitting layout. Rather they were stacked or parallel vs. at an angle. That causes some fitment restrictions.

Is this system adequate for blow your protection in a 2012 wrx? If so, which hose should this be connected to? (The last hose on the turbo inlet hose just before the turbo?)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This system should be sufficient. For installation help, please contact our Customer Service department via phone, email, or chat.

  • Q: Turbo setup  Brownwizzard3 years ago

Are these cans pressure sealed and designed to withstand boost pressure?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This can is not pressure sealed as it does not have a dedicated vacuum source. It should be perfectly fine for use on forced induction applications, but may require emptying more often due to added blow-by cause by higher boost levels.
