Whats the metal tube for ?

A:  If you are referring to the spool of hose in the photo, that is plastic tubing for the connection points on the catch can.

  • Q: fitment   Carlos2 years ago

will this fit my 2013 wrx sedan if i do my own bracket?
  • Q: oil can   2011sti3 years ago

Will this work with a perrin aos ? On a 2011 sti And i will have the perrin inlet also
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We are not able to confirm fitment between those two parts. Installing this catch can in addition to the AOS would be a custom fitment.

  • Q: Where to buy extra PCV tube  Kaiwei Wang3 years ago

I just buy the oil catch can, and right now it is connect to the atmosphere, CUSCO did provide a little plug to put in the intake hole, I'd like to know if I want to connect it back to the intake, where can I buy the extra tube? The tube that shipped along with the can is too short to cut in half, thank you
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We sell some tubing or you can source it from a hardware store. Many Customers end up using black hose found at auto part stores or hardware stores. https://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/category/engine/cooling/universal-hose-couplings

  • Q: What is this?  Heartless823 years ago

Excuse me for this question but, this catch can what is it for ? Thanks !
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Catch cans connect to your PCV system in an effort to catch oil and contaminants that would otherwise get introduced to the intake system and combustion chambers. This prevents gunk and carbon buildup, oil contamination and consumption, and premature cylinder wear.

  • Q: Suitable for a NA Impreza?  evaradar3 years ago

I know that this part is only meant for turbo Subarus, but I know it can still fit a NA Subaru, such as an Impreza. Now my question is, is this also useful for a NA Subaru? I was told that it nets the same results
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We can only confirm fitment for the vehicles in the confirmed applications listing. In my opinion this is not nearly as beneficial as it would be on a turbo vehicle but in high RPM NA vehicles can see some blowby and it could have benefit.

  • Q: Newbie Questions  mhinkens5 years ago

    1. In addition to helping with blowby in the turbo and intercooler, does this help remove condensation from the oil? In other words, will this help the yellow sludge under the oil cap issue? 2. Is there a baffle or filter inside of this can?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  1. This kit should help with the yellow sludge. 2.No, the street type catch tank doesn't have any baffles inside

  • Q: install question on 2013 sti  willow_lee160655 years ago

I have a 2013 sti and I was wondering where the other catch can fitting goes to (the exit nipple fitting)? Do I just route it to the atmosphere? It seems like the hose that came with the kit is not long enough to make another route back to the intake tract. Do I just leave one of the fitting alone so that it vents to the atmosphere? Instruction is confusing.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cusco's instructions state that you can set this up so it is inline with the PCV system or you can have it atmospheric. With an atmospheric setup you may experience issues such as poor idling because the intake and PCV system would have a leak. If you put the catch can inline with the PCV/intake system, then additional hose may be necessary.

  • Q: Great Product  tempemail55a98eb2caae52820290382c5 years ago

just bought the oil catch can , so do i still need the AOS ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Many people will use a catch can along with an AOS. There are many different ways to connect it but going that route is a bit more custom than the standard install instructions.

  • Q: 09-13 FXT (SH) fitment  vthang735 years ago

Can this be installed on 09-13 Forester XT (SH)? Thanks.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This catch can is only confirmed to fit the 2008-2013 STI at this time and we cannot guarantee fitment on any other vehicles. I imagine you could make it work, but cannot confirm fitment.

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The unit itself WILL fit the forester SH9 BUT 1) it does foul on the washer bottle fill tube (very minor) 2) takes a bit of research for where to plug into and may need extra hose for a closed loop system

  • Q: Compatibility  H.Blaz5 years ago

How is this catch can only for the STI? Is there a way that i can be installed on a 2013 WRX?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The brackets and hoses are meant to fit the STI but the brackets would be situated differently on the WRX. There is a chance you could install it on the WRX but it would be a custom fit and we could not guarantee fitment.

  • Q: 2012 subaru sti  Ryan / Teo6 years ago

what will the line go to?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will go between the line that runs from the engine block, to the turbo inlet hose. It will help catch the excess oil running through the lines, and prevents the burning of that oil. Thanks

  • Q: Tomakia aos and catch can  BoostedBob6 years ago

Just had my motor rebuilt and it looks like my tomakia aos is being over whelmed so looking into this catch can to help with blow by , my question is will this be hard to tie into my aos system or will it be relatively simple to tie in?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  When we have seen AOS and Catch Cans ties together. What most guys will do is tie the catch cans in series with the return hose that goes into the inlet.

  • Q: Can internals?  justinpozzolo531157 years ago

Are there baffles inside the can to separate the oil from the vapors?
  • Q: Install  justinpozzolo531157 years ago

Is there anyway to put up a pic of the hoses installed? I'm not quite sure how it hooks up. Does the hose go from the breather hose in front of the tmic to the catch can then out of the can to the hose that goes into the turbo inlet pipe? And thats it?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Hello, You will find the hose that goes from your turbo inlet to the hard line that runs across the front of your intercooler. Unplug that hose from the turbo inlet and use straight connector to connect that hose to the clear hose which will run to the catch can. Plug the hole on the turbo inlet that is left over from removing the hose. The other side of the catch can will remain empty and vent to atmosphere. Another way you can install it is if you remove the hose that connects the turbo inlet to the hard lines running across the front of your intercooler. Run a hose from one side of the catch can to the turbo inlet and run another hose from the other side of the catch can to the hard line in front of the intercooler where you remove the factory hose. Thank you.

  • Q: How do you empty it?  11DGMSTI4D7 years ago

I can't see a drain and it looks like it bolted into the mount from the bottom of the can. Do you have to completely disassemble it to empty it? My 11 STI can produce 5oz of fluid in a 1000miles/ 1 month of DD.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unfortunately it does not have a built in drain so you can either install one prior to installing the entire kit into your car or you can detach the hoses and drain it from the fitting.
