Features & Product Details

The PERRIN Performance catback exhaust for your 2002-2007 WRX or STI is one of the best and first modifications you should do to your Subaru, gain horsepower and unleash that aggressive Subaru sound. Made from 3" 304ss tubing for maximum exhaust flow and extreme durability. The PERRIN Performance catback exhaust features a direct bolt on installation to the OEM down pipe and aftermarket down pipes with no "neck down" because of a special flange that is designed to bolt to both the smaller OEM flange and the larger aftermarket flanges. This is followed by an intermediate V-band connection that allows fine tuning of the exhaust alignment and provides an air tight seal.

Finishing off the PERRIN catback is a true 3" inside diameter muffler and a 4" slash cut tip. The PERRIN catback is available with a brushed metal finish or with the optional stealth black muffler.

Perrin Cat Back Exhaust  1 year ago
If you are looking for a low key great sounding exhaust look no further. the 2006-2007 WRX STi sedan comes with and is designed with a 2.5 inch exhaust OEM. Most aftermarket exhaust are 3.0 inches and will rub the driveshaft. I had to have a hanger cut and extended to solve the clearance issues. Other than that it went on beautifully. This is my second exhaust for my 2007 limited edition WRX STi. I originally purchased the Greddy, and the internal baffles failed causing a horrible sound. Hopefully this lasts as long (10yrs).

Perrin Cat Back Exhaust 1 year ago
This exhaust looks and sounds great! Easy install. Quality manufacturing for a reasonable price. The tone is a deep rich sound without being too loud or obnoxious. Overall a good decision.

Installed last week 3 years ago
So install was only a pain because one of the bolts was rusted where the catback meets the exhaust pipe. Other than that bolt though it was maybe 30 minutes of work total with 2 jack stands and a jack. Overall: SO WORTH IT. The exhaust tone is deep and sounds great! It's a little quiet though, but if you get on it you can hear it for sure! (Still not too loud though) I've heard you can make it louder by going catless on the downpipe so I may try that. The sound is SO good though. One thing I noticed (vs stock) is that if you take your foot off the gas, the car will coast way more smoothly. (which is good!) No idea on gas mileage yet, and power increases might be there? Not really sure, most my driving is spent at lower RPMs right now.

Love this exhaust! 3 years ago
Mated this to my 3" downpipe and it sounds so mean, I constantly get compliments on how good it sounds. The brushed finish gives it a unique look, love the v-band connection as well. Give it some time to break-in, the sound changed completely from when I first installed it. It can be very quiet while cruising at low rpm, but it has the nastiest rumble when opened up. The only down side was fitment with the stock hangers- The mid pipe was contacting the drive shaft center support and making clunking noises. I ended buying a set of torque solution long mounts, clunk is gone but now the exhaust hangs pretty low. Overall I am very happy with it. The picture posted is the exhaust installed on the stock hangers, it now sits a good 1/4" lower.

Outstanding 4 years ago
A fantastic exhaust, paired with the GrimmSpeed divorced downpipe and it has a really mature sounding boxer growl without being overly loud or droning. The build quality is superb and the whole exhaust is beautiful. Very impressed.

  • Q: 2006 STI Diffuser Clearence  UAAC6 months ago

Does this exhaust clear 2006 STI rear diffuser without any trimming or cutting?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The muffler is larger than the oem muffler so it would depend how much room you have to work with.

  • Q: Will this fit a 2005 Forester XT?  fozzyboiii241 year ago

Will this fit me 2005 Forester XT? Looking at the hangers it looks like it will mount properly but will it clear the rear bumper?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  For any fitment questions please refer to the vehicle fitment chart below or use the vehicle search filter located at the top right corner of your screen. However, because this is a more common question the answer is NO this will not fit. The positioning may be right however it will hit your bumper, no doubt.

  • Q: 2002 Subaru WRX w/ Grimm Speed Downpipe  Padillar2 years ago

How does the Perrin CatBack Exhaust fit on a 2002 Subaru WRX w/ Grimm Speed Downpipe. Will the fitment be perfect, or require the Perrin downpipe paired with the exhaust?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Perrin designs their catback with a unique flange designed to bolt to both the smaller OEM flange and the larger aftermarket flanges, so you should have no fitment issues with your Grimmspeed Downpipe.

  • Q: For 2006 wrx wagon  3 years ago

Does this exhaust come with everything it needs to fit and bolt straight onto the stock cat on a 2006 WRX wagon? Including rubber mounts etc or just re use the stock exhaust hangers?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This includes everything needed and will reuse factory hangers and other OEM parts. We do recommend purchasing a new Subaru OEM Donut gasket for the downpipe to catback flange since yours will likely be worn.

  • Q: Perrin vs Cobb  WRXalex13314 years ago

Which of the tow catbacks has a lower rumble? Perrin or Cobb
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It is really personal preference, but both will be great quality! and have low rumbles. Would be best to see if you can find a video on Youtube.
