Hey guys, I've got a hyperflow downpipe (http://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/down-pipe-with-metal-cat-wrx-08-14-sti-08-15) currently on my 2012 wrx hatch. Just wanting to know if the Q300 is compatible?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will work with most downpipes but its best to talk to the manufacture of the downpipe to ensure it fits.

  • Q: Cobb downpipe   Abbwrx2 years ago

I purchased this payback recently and I'm interested in purchasing the cobb downpipe eventually after I get an accessport, I understand the that cobb piping size for the downpipe is 2.5 inches while invidia midpipe is 3, are there adapters of any sort to make them compatible or will it have to be cut and welded together?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  To get the best seal with the Cobb downpipe, an OEM downpipe to 3 inch catback adapter would be recommended like INV HS02SWIAPE or GRM 077046.

  • Q: Silencer  TiE103 years ago

I see you guys offer some silencers. I bought this exhaust a while back and love it but want to put a silencer occasionally; do you know which one would work best with this? Also, are there any assemblies available like in the Varex system using a solenoid/actuator controlled flap to close off a couple some of the tips on demand (of course would require custom modification to the exhaust)?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Invidia does not produce a silencer for Q300 exhausts at this time. Invidia doesn't have an adjustable baffling system currently. You may be able to fabricate such a system, but that would be a custom job.

  • Q: gaskets bolts and nuts  mikelawrry3 years ago

Hi guys, I need to replace all 3 gaskets and want to replace all 6 bolts. What do you recommend and where can I get them? Also what sizes are the bolts and nuts, can you give me specs if possible? Thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This catback uses standard 3 inch two bolt gaskets, and we currently carry Grimmspeed, Vibrant, and Remflex 3 inch gaskets. The 6 bolts and nuts are M10 x 1.25, and you can get those from a local hardware store.

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Once you put a downpipe on CA emissions car you will not pass smog I was told by my installer, you either need to put the factory downpipe back on and return your MAP to factory settings for your smog test, even if you run E-85. So I kept my factory downpipe and factory Cold Air Intake for this reason.

A:  A catback will not require a tune, the downpipe is the portion that would require a tune.

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will fit on the stock downpipe but an adapter like Grimmspeed's stock downpipe to 3 catback is recommended, or using the donut gasket when fitting up the exhaust to the downpipe.

  • Q: Cat bolys  tdbatt474865 years ago

Any tips on removing the bolts from the cat? New England weather is fun, but not when you have to remove bolts...
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It always helps to spray the old bolts with some penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster or WD40 and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Remove the bolts carefully attempting not to break them. Other than that the installation of the catback system is straightforward but please let us know if you have other questions.

  • Q: turbo back  Patrickbraceros0022577255 years ago

is this a turbo back exhaust?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is a catback exhaust. A turboback includes a downpipe and full catback system. This paired with one of Invidia's downpipes would essentially be a turboback.

  • Q: Gaskets  Danally L.5 years ago

I see that it comes with gaskets for each section, but does it include a gasket for the Invidia Catted Downpipe? Do I need to purchase an extra donut gasket? thanks in advance.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you are using an Invidia downpipe no donut gasket is required. This will bolt directly to the Invidia downpipe and does not require an extra gasket since 3 are included.

  • Q: Silencer  kinderjoy114335 years ago

Hi there, since in europe we have very strict rules about noise, the exaust must not exceed 97 dB (decibels). My ear thinks it's way over those 97 dB. Is there any silencer available for this model ?
  • Q: Power Gains   JD84715 years ago

Compared to the COBB turbo back exhaust system would this system have more power gains (with an invidia catted divorced down pipe)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The power gains with an Invidia turbo back will be very similar to a Cobb turbo back. The main difference is Cobb's downpipe tapers to 2.5, which would not affect power output until you reach about 400-450+whp.

if i would have a stock 2013 wrx and add this on, what else would i need to get. donut gaskets and new downpipe???
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will bolt up to the stock downpipe if use the GrimmSpeed adapter to reduce the chances of having a exhaust leak. People have bolted it up to stock downpipes with no issues in the past but longer hardware might be required.

Do I need to purchase a new donut gasket for mating an OEM downpipe to an Invidia Q300 Catback system?

A:  It is recommended to replace the donut gasket if it is more than about 1 year old because they tend to fall apart when you remove the cat back.

  • Q: HP and Torque  Dialos136 years ago

Has anyone done a comparison of stock power vs. power after the upgrade?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There is not a huge power gain with just a catback on a stock car. Typically you only see 5-10HP max as the stock system is not very restrictive at stock power levels. However they do look and sound MUCH MUCH better then stock.
