  • Q: Help!  Molliwops6 months ago

I have a 2012 wrx that came with an axle back exhaust and I dont know what it is but I like it and dont nessaserily wont to swap it. Can I purchase a mid pipe for similar results?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, assuming that your mid-pipe is stock you will see similar results since you already have an axle back.

  • Q: Invidia N1  wonged1 year ago

Just wanted to make sure that I purchase all necessary gaskets in order for proper installation. Car is a stock 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX. Subaru OEM Donut Gasket (part # 44022AA123) x1, GS Universal Exhaust Gasket (part # GRM 020031) x2, and Remflex Exhaust Gasket (part # RF8006) x2. Can you please confirm?
  • Q: Pipe size   Mr_subaru061 year ago

What size is this pipe? Looks like a 2 in. Just wondering , and also does it stay that same size all the way to the mufflers?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The piping is 76mm which is roughly 3 inches. The only sections of the piping that would change in size are the resonator, mufflers and the tips.

  • Q: Invidia n1  castanedachristian143 years ago

I just installed my invidia n1 exhaust to my 2012 wrx and everything is perfect except that the tips are sitting a little crooked. One is hanging a little lower than the other. Is it suppose to sit like that or did I do something wrong?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This exhaust has some room for adjustment by loosening some of the bolts and then trying to position the exhaust to where you need and then tightening everything up. After adjusting and it still isn't lining up correctly, please call customer service at 801-748-4910.

My 2009WRX currently has an ultimate racing catless down pipe and cat back exhaust. Could this bolt on directly to the 3inch catless down pipe? Thanks!
  • Q: Comparison to Axle Back Muffler Delete  waidhoyt378353 years ago

Hi, I have a muffler delete on my 2010 WRX right now. Would I benefit from an upgrade to N1 catback? Sound will be different but is all the piping the same or is it 3"? Just want to know if it's something worthwhile basically.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There may be a slight benefit since this will have a 3" midpipe, but unless you are seeing a current bottleneck with the stock midpipe on a very high horsepower car it is unlikely there will be much of a change from the axleback to the catback.

A:  Thank you! For the DP I was looking at Cobb's. It has a 2.5 outlet though. Should that effect anything going 3" -2.5"-then 3" again at the mid pipe?

  • Q: Fitment  xsmith4203 years ago

I boufht this exhaust for my 11 sti sedan. Now I have a 16. Figured ide ask before I just tried to slap it on but can I make this fit my 16 sti?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Fitment is very close but ultimately Invidia and most other exhaust manufacturers have a specific part number for the 2015-2016+ models and there are some differences, we wouldn't be able to confirm this to fit the 2015-2016.

This will be my very first mod ever... I just want to make sure that I have all the parts I need for this install (gaskets, hangers, nut, bolt, etc) please advise
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you are using the stock downpipe we recommend the OEM downpipe to 3" catback adapter that Grimmspeed manufactures as well as the Subaru OEM Donut gasket.

I was jw for who has this in there subie. if I just but this and get installed with a stock sti will it sound good? and is it just this that I have to buy? and how much will it cost me to get this done?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you have a stock downpipe you would want to use a donut gasket and a stock downpipe to 3" catback adapter. Installation costs depend on the labor rate of the shop performing the work.

  • Q: Additional hardware  cmullenski3 years ago

I just ordered this exhaust for my 2014 STI with Cobb downpipe. Will I need any additional hardware to install it? My car has about 11k miles on it and has never been modded, so any gaskets and hangers should be in excellent condition. thanks.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb's downpipe is designed with a 2.5" flange at the catback connection point. To ensure a leak free install, we recommend GrimmSpeed's adapter (Part # GRM 077046). Gaskets will be included, but we also recommend upgrading the exhaust hangers to the polyurethane hangers we offer (Part # KAR KB-011-12MM) and you would need x5 to complete the set.

  • Q: Invidia n1 titanium tip 2012 Sti  Corey3 years ago

I have the invidia n1 titanium tip exhaust on a 12 Sti and need to replace the gaskets for the 2 flanges before the mufflers. This is a 3 inch to 2.25 inch application correct? Any recommendations for the type to replace them with?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The two gaskets after the Y-pipe split are smaller than 3", they are going to be similar to Grimmspeed's universal 2.25-2.5" gasket which is part number GRM 020031.

  • Q: 2016 Subaru Forester XT Premium  Numbskull3 years ago

Will this fit on the 2016 Forester XT Premium? Not sure if the site is not working correctly but it is telling me it has no parts available for the 16 FXT
  • Q: Compatible with Cobb downpipe?  cmullenski3 years ago

Does this exhaust bolt on to Cobb down pipe? Also, are there any additional hangers/hardware that is recommended when installing this system?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Since the COBB uses a stock style downpipe to catback flange using a donut gasket is recommended at the very least. Grimmspeed manufactures a stock downpipe to 3" catback adapter that will help both sides of the junction have the proper flanges and a 100% fit and finish, but it is not uncommon for customers to install this using just the donut gasket and centering it inside the 3" Invidia exhaust, creating a seal all around.

  • Q: Invidia n1  MikeD3 years ago

I have an invidia n1 catback on my 2013 wrx sedan. I want to switch to a q300 and put the n1 on my wife's 2009 wrx. Will the n1 from my 2013 fit on the 2009 wrx sedan
  • Q: Gasket   JagzRex3 years ago

Okay so I just finished installing my n1 on my 2013 wrx sedan and I forgot to install one gasket which I believe goes between the mid pipe and catback. I don't see any exhaust leaks nor does it sound bad, so my question is do i need to put that gasket on or will I be fine without it?
  • Q: 2009 fxt  09fxt3 years ago

Will this fit on stock down pipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We recommend using Grimmspeed's adapter to ensure a leak free install. You can find this adapter by searching part # GRM 077046

  • Q: Rattle   Jlitch3 years ago

So I have had this exhaust for about two years. recently the welds have cracked that hold the name plate to the rear Y section of the exhaust and this has caused it to rattle horribly once the car is warmed up. Is this normal or a manufacturers defect......
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This would be a defect that can happen over time. Take it into a local muffler shop they should be able to weld it very very cheap.

  • Q: Fitment   Growler3 years ago

So I have done I would say a fair amount of research on this exhaust for my 2012 wrx. This being said there are not many videos for the wrx in particular and I can't get the exact idea on all of the parts I will need. Will the N1 fit on the car with the current hangers (oem), and not burn a hole in my bumper? Along with that are there any additional parts needed for correct fitment? Have not purchased the exhaust yet and want to make sure I get everything I need at the same time. Thank you.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  For install on this you usually do not need updated hangers. But in the case you do, you can purchase the kart boy xl hangers to give it the clearance needed. You will also need the catback to stock downpipe connector ( if your using the stock downpipe ) The links are below. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/product/grm-077046-grimmspeed-oem-downpipe-to-3in-cat-back-adapter http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop/product/kar-kb-011-12mmxl-kartboy-12mm-black-exhaust-hanger-long

  • Q: Loudness and fitment  Nikk C3 years ago

Is the n1 noticeably louder then the q300? And would the n1 hook up to the same y-pipe and midpipe that I have for the q300 or do I need to replace the whole system?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes, the N1 is much louder. The N1 mufflers may work with that ypipe/midpipe, but the N1 is only available as a catback system. The mufflers are not sold separately.

  • Q: Mid Pipe  1MPUR1TY3 years ago

Hey! I already own this wonderful exhaust and I'm a little curious; does anyone make an unresonated midpipe that will bolt up to this catback? This will be going on the track car of course. I know the N1 Race single is unresonated, and that would be my fallback option. Thank you for your time!
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Invidia does not sell their midpipes separately to allow the option to switch to an unresonated version.

I current have a Cobb Catted Downpipe. Is there a special adaptor needed to join the Cobb Downpipe and the N1 cat back?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Grimmspeed adapter GRM 077046 will create a great seal with a downpipe using the Donut gasket.

i just bought a aem cold air intake and a invidia catted down pipe. i want so save money for this exhaust. i am going to get the cai and the down pipe tuned. Do i have to get the exhaust tuned with these parts? sorry newbie.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  No tuning is required for catback exhaust systems. But, it will benefit the tune to have the exhaust installed before getting it tuned to get the most out of each upgrade.
