  • Q: Tune?  KW4 years ago

Will this require a tune after installation? Everything ls on the car is stock. Thanks.
  • Q: hp limitation  vegnpwr5 years ago

When matted with a 3 inch dowpipe, what is the max recommended horsepower given the 2.5 inch bottleneck? I have a 2004 sti with 475-500hp at the crank.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Through extensive testing Cobb has found that is not a significant restriction until well over 500 Hp. While it can impede air flow slightly, it wouldn't be a difference until numerous other restrictions were resolved on the car.

  • Q: 2002 Subaru WRX w/ Grimm Speed Downpipe  Padillar6 years ago

How does the Cobb exhaust stainless steel mate w/ a Grimm Speed Downpipe?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will have a 2.5" flange at the down pipe connection and if your Grimmspeed down pipe has a 3" flange, you will need an adapter.

  • Q: cobb tuning cat in 600hp wrx  Cobb tuning7 years ago

i got 600hp in my wrx 2002, this catback going to afect me in something?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It is possible a 3" exhaust is a bit limiting for that kind of power number and you may want to consider a 3.5" exhaust to make sure you have no bottle necks in the system.

  • Q: Cobb CBE  bmgorski77066817 years ago

I have a Cobb 3in DP with a Perrin CBE right now. I am trying to lower the decibels just a little. If I get the Cobb CBE paired with my Cobb3in DP will it still be as loud as my set up now?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Of the catbacks we have available for this model COBB tends to be one of the quietest setups, but the Perrin is almost equal in volume to the COBB.

  • Q: O2 Sensors?  jmoth79190568 years ago

I should order replacement O2 sensors separately, correct?

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This cat back will bolt up to the Invidia downpipe and it comes with the mid pipe to axle back gasket, but the downpipe to mid pipe gasket will need to be purchased separately.

  • Q: Bolts and Gaskets  anthonyjcarlino496959 years ago

It looks like Cobb does not supply bolts or gaskets correct? So for a 2004 (10 year old rust), I will need to purchase separately the bolts and gaskets for the midpipe/muffler connection and downpipe/catback connection?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The midpipe to axleback portion of this exhaust comes with the gasket and hardware needed. The downpipe to midpipe joint will require a Subaru OEM donut gasket as well as the use of the OEM hardware.

  • Q: Same as TBE minus downpipe?  corey.block7840149 years ago

Hey my question is if I purchase and install the COBB Cat-back, then at a later time purchase and install a COBB downpipe, would that essentially be the same as purchasing the COBB TBE? or are they two completely different units? Thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Those two are the same thing. A turboback system is comprised of both a downpipe and catback. A catback is a midpipe and axle back.

  • Q: sound  pouyeux5510 years ago

I already have a downpipe 3 catless cobb. Will it be really loud with this catback since i don't have a cat?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Yes typically catless is going to be loud with almost any catback system you go with, I would say this would be pretty loud with your setup.

  • Q: Cobb exhaust  joe.bretto4461110 years ago

I have an hks high power exhaust at the moment I don't know what version downpipe I have but the hks fits just fine will this?
  • Q: 3  joe.bretto4461110 years ago

Will this bolt directly up to my turbo xs downpipe I have a 2004 Wrx?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you are running the V2 TurboXS downpipe there should be no problems installing the Cobb catback to it. If you are running the V1 TurboXS downpipe you will have to use the TurboXS WS-CBAP - catback adapter pipe in order for it to be the proper length to install to a Cobb or stock length catback.

  • Q: Diff Gaurd  jpdollins1903110 years ago

How would you modify it? And would it hurt to take it off?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You could grind a portion of the Diff guard to make clearance for this exhaust, or you could remove it all together. These cars do not come with them in stock form, and unless you go offroad often or need the extra under body protection, it will not hurt anything to remove it. Thanks.

  • Q: Hangers  mjbusmc199110 years ago

How many hangers does this exhaust utilize? Specs on the 04 WRX state that the stock uses 4 hangers, but from what I see this seems to only use 3. Maybe Im missing something in the picture.
  • Q: tools  zlambie911 years ago

what exact tool do i need for the instal?
    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will only need basic hand tools, such as a 14mm socket wrench, a 14mm open ended wrench and 4 jack stands/jack. Thank you!

  • Q: GC fitment?  camron_usaf11 years ago

Is the hangar placement for 02-07 WRX/STI same as the older body style?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The hanger placement is not going to be the same between the GC and GD chassis for a full cat-back. Since the GC was non turbo the exhausts between GD and GC chassis are going to be different lengths as well.

  • Q: Mix and Match  Dustin Liberton11 years ago

I have a completely stock 2002 Subaru wrx. Im doing a full exhaust swap 3 from the down pipe all the way back. I have picked out the up pipe, gaskets, and down pipe i want to use. If i purchase this COBB exhaust will it come with the mid-pipe or will i have no need for it? are there any other parts i will need that i am missing?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This Cobb exhaust comes with the mid pipe and axleback. You will need a 3 2 bolt gasket to go between the mid pipe and axleback. You will also need a donut gasket or another 3 2 bolt gasket to go between the downpipe and mid pipe.

  • Q: N/A version / compatibility?  MUFC47011 years ago

Is there an equivalent of this for a 2002 Impreza OBS. Or something that can make it compatible?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unfortunately Cobb does not make an exhaust for the N/A Imprezas, but you should be able to get an exhaust shop to modify this one to fit. Thanks.

  • Q: Experience With Perrin  Xenoice11 years ago

Does anyone have experience with mating this to the Perrin Catted Up and Down Pipes. From the install instructions from Cobb and Perrin it looks like it will work fine. However, any first hand experience would be preferable.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I do not have personal experience, so maybe someone else can chime in, however as long as the Perrin downpipe is stock length, which I believe it is. Then it should work with no problems at all. Thanks.
