Description

One of the most common performance modifications you can perform on your vehicle is the addition of a Cat-back Exhaust system. But note that not just any exhaust system, but the COBB Tuning Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System. This is the result of countless hours of design, research, and testing to develop an exhaust system aimed to deliver performance and sound. This is achieved through smooth mandrel bends that limit exhaust turbulence under acceleration which is combined with increased piping diameter. Not only do you get improvements in power, but you get improvements in throttle response as well as reduced turbo lag.

Because this exhaust system has been fabricated from 304 stainless steel, you are getting an exhaust system that can last the life of your vehicle while saving weight and adding value. And don't forget about the benefits of a more aggressive exhaust tone under throttle.

Included with this exhaust will be gaskets as well as hardware to make this COBB cat-back ready for installation.

COBB Tuning Cat Back
vipr304 2 years ago
Very happy with the finish, quality, and sound of this exhaust. It bolted right up in place of the stock cat back on stock hangers with no problems. The sound is deeper and louder than stock in a non obnoxious way, but not too loud to rattle the neighborhood (just what I was looking for). I recommend this exhaust, and I really regret not buying it earlier.

Good, Like the rumble
Allr1ght 2 years ago
I just put this on my 02 WRX, so far it fits good. I had to get a donut gasket from the auto store though. It sounds good really deep rumble so if thats you do this one. I can feel the difference from the stock exhaust so thats really good. If anything happens ill update this review but for now ill give a 4 out of 5.

Great

Cobb Tuning exhaust looks great and very well made. The exhaust note is perfect, not to loud but definitely compliments that subies rumble. Only problem I had was that when i tried to mate it with my Grimmspeed downpipe it didn't match up. The downpipe had a flat flange and the exhaust flange that suppose to mate with the downpipe was curved to mate up with stock downpipe. Had to use exhaust "mud" in order to keep the noise down until my local metal fabricator can put on a flat flange to mate everything up nicely. Just food for thought for whoever is planning on getting this exhaust with aftermarket downpipe. Love the exhaust tho. Great buy!

COBB Catback Exhaust
Kevin 2 years ago
I have done extensive research on many catback exhausts for my 07 wrx from invidia to tomei and finally settled on a COBB catback. Sound: If you are a loud exhaust kind of guy then this exhaust is most likely not for you. If you want that boxer growl that isnt too obnoxious then this would be one exhaust to consider. It has the richest deep tone out of all the exhausts i have researched but still maintains pretty quiet. However driving normally it sounds like a dream and when you really get in the higher RPMS then that is where the deep boxer growl kicks in and you will not be disappointed. Quality: COBB. Cant say anything else to match the COBB packaging that is securely packaged and the quality of the stainless steel exhaust is beautiful. The SS really shines when it is all clean but still shines even when dirty so you get the best of both worlds. Appearance: If you want a lowkey, stock looking exhaust then this is what you definitely should consider. Very stock looking with the SS shine but still looks aftermarket in a way that definitely shows you have upgraded the exhaust. Final thoughts: If you want a deep tone sounding, stock looking, stainless steel catback exhaust, then this exhaust is for you. Not too obnoxious to annoy your neighbors unless you really rev it high but also definitely will not get you pulled over. Nothing but happiness on my end.

  • Q: hp limitation  vegnpwr 6 months ago

    Answer

When matted with a 3 inch dowpipe, what is the max recommended horsepower given the 2.5 inch bottleneck? I have a 2004 sti with 475-500hp at the crank.

    • A: Through extensive testing Cobb has found that is not a significant restriction until well over 500 Hp. While it can impede air flow slightly, it wouldn't be a difference until numerous other restrictions were resolved on the car.

  • Q: Additional Parts for installing COBB CBE to 2005 Subaru WRX STI  JoshSti 10 months ago

    Answer

What other parts do I need to install the COBB CBE to my 2005 STI if I have OEM Down pipe? I'm still deciding which CBE to get, COBB or Q300.

    • A: For this, you would just need a new donut gasket.

  • Q: 2002 Subaru WRX w/ Grimm Speed Downpipe  Padillar 2 years ago

    Answer

How does the Cobb exhaust stainless steel mate w/ a Grimm Speed Downpipe?

    • A: This will have a 2.5" flange at the down pipe connection and if your Grimmspeed down pipe has a 3" flange, you will need an adapter.

  • Q: Hardware  StarryBoar 2 years ago

    Answer

Do you guys have to know bolt sizes? DP to mid and mid to back?

    • A: Catback hardware is going to be M10, we recommend bringing your hardware into a hardware store and sourcing replacements.

  • Q: cobb tuning cat in 600hp wrx  Cobb tuning 2 years ago

    Answer

i got 600hp in my wrx 2002, this catback going to afect me in something?

    • A: It is possible a 3" exhaust is a bit limiting for that kind of power number and you may want to consider a 3.5" exhaust to make sure you have no bottle necks in the system.
