Stoptech Sport Front Brake Pads ( Part Number: 309.07210)
Lots of Break dust 2 years ago
    Buildinup6
I bought these thinking they would be less dusty and be a little better. But they feel the exact same and the dust build up on insanely bad.

    Nice upgrade! 3 years ago

Bought with matching rear pads set and front/rear stainless braided brake lines. Wow...what a difference! Good initial bite with a nice firm pedal. Confidence inspiring brakes, exactly what I was looking for.

Great pads coupled with Stoptech rears 5 years ago

These are a healthy step above the OEM pads. Note they have a bed-in procedure from Stoptech, look it up after you install! Once these things are warm they have a great bite, and have used them in 2 Autox's so far and are way better then the junk I had on there. I just bought blank rotors from NAPA.

    Great pads 6 years ago

I bought these with the intent on piecing together the stage 2 upgrade, and from the stock pads to these there is a noticeable bite difference. There is a break in period, google it, it's just a series of stops from various speeds. And these do not come with brake grease for the install. Great product! Time for the rotors next :) thanks RSD!

Great street pad 6 years ago
    wayland.dong22526
I have about 1000 miles on these and am impressed. They have good initial bite (I had to reduce how hard to pushed the pedal for light braking compared to oe pad). No noise, no reduction in braking when cold, no unusual amount of dust. Haven't been to the track with them. Great pad and great price.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Bed-in procedure  stmphang014973 years ago

How important is it to follow the bed-in procedure? I mean can I drive the car home normally after install and do the bed-in runs later? Does this ruin the pads? Pads to be installed with new stock rotors. Thanks.
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will want to bed in the pads as soon as possible and avoid heating them up before doing so. The pads will not be ruined, but pad deposits can end up on the rotors causing uneven surfaces. This can be fixed by rebedding the pads.

    • Q: Fitment  tixop4 years ago

Will these work with 4 pot calipers or just 2 pot?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These pads will not work with 4 pot calipers, and are specifically for 2002 WRX and other models. You can use 2006-2007 WRX brake pads for Subaru 4 pot calipers.

    • Q: Metal bracket question  Autobot_WRX4 years ago

Hello, I recently purchased these brake pads for my 2002 WRX. On one side of the pad there is a goldish metal bracket that sticks out from the brake pad. Do you remove this? Does it go on the inside or outside of the rotor? I will post a picture for reference. Thank You,
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  That is a wear indicator, some people remove them but it is not required. They should fit either on the inside or outside of the caliper without a problem.

    • Q: Stoptech Street vs Axxis Ultimate?  BB1LOVIN6 years ago

I just purchased a pair of these and was wondering how these may compare to Axxis Ultimate? Ive had Axxis ULT before on my previous car. Use would be for occasional track + street. Thanks!
      • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We currently don't offer the Axxis Ultimate so that question is a bit hard to answer, but after reviewing the materials and comparing the pads operating heat ranges the two are very comparable. However these Stoptech pads do offer a wider heat range than the Axxis Ultimate's (1300'F vs 1022'F) which will allow them to perform better during high braking circumstances. The Para-aramid composite material also allows them to offer a very linear braking response whether the pad is cold or hot.
