I have a turbo smart 52mm boost gauge I fitted to my Astra 18months ago but the lights have stopped working, can I replace the bulb or do I need to replace the whole unit?
  • Q: Subaru wrx 02  subaruwrx914 years ago

A:  This is a universal gauge that can be used on any car, including your 2002 WRX. You will need a way to mount the gauge and we recommend the Turbo Universal Gauge Mounting Cup.

  • Q: Dimming the back light  Got AWD4 years ago

I saw that Zach G said he was able to hook this gauge up to his factor dimmer. Could anyone elaborate on how to do this? Thanks.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I had this gauge installed in an old Saab and hooked the power and ground wires up to the back of the factory dimmer switch that controls the instrument panel lights. This should work with almost any dimmer switch, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all.

  • Q: Mounting  samsk5304 years ago

I was looking at the supplied hardware for mounting and it seems like to have any sort of clean mount, youll have to buy the turbo smart 52mm mount setup in addition to this gauge. Is this correct?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The included mounting bracket is a basic setup and there are a variety of other ways you can mount this gauge like in our SMY clustermakers or any other gauge pod setups we have confirmed for your vehicle.

  • Q: do you think?  Allenfranchise4 years ago

Do you think this could be a direct swap from the factory boost gauge that came with 04 sti's? TIA!

A:  This gauge will be larger then your OEM gauge. As far as the wiring, We cant confirm it will be same wiring.

  • Q: mounting on steering column of 2006 sit  Wrxstiboost487785 years ago

I want to mount this on the steering column of my 2006 sti. It says to wire it into the headlight illumination wire. Does anyone know where i can find this wire and what it looks like?? Thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There are several different places where you can tap in to the illumination and the most popular option is to use a fuse tap on the illumination fuse in the fuse box.

  • Q: installing  Boost_gets_you_laid5 years ago

Does this come with instructions because I feel like it will be easy to hook up but I don’t know where to hook up the electrical wires exactly, will I have to splice the wires and do you think it will be possible to hook up to my dimmer switch in my car or buy a dimmer switch to adjust the brightness t my liking?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Instructions are not included, but the installation will be very straight forward. You will need to run a vacuum hose (usually from the intake manifold) to the back of the gauge and you will need power and ground hooked up to the wires for the backlight. I was able to hook this gauge up to my factory dimmer switch to adjust the brightness.

  • Q: hose size??  sconnor6 years ago

Hi, I just purchased this and when I started to get ready for my install I realized the tubing seems to be a completely different size I wasn't about to start taking things apart without confirmation that this hose will fit a 2011 WRX. I never search for parts without the current vehicle search enabled so I assumed it would be compatible. Maybe I'm eyeing the wrong hose I though I was supposed to tee in next to the bypass valve. Thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This boost gauge is a universal product and is not intended to be a factory replacement for any vehicle in particular. The hose and T that are included are the most common sizes for most applications. An additional vacuum T or hose may be necessary for installation.

  • Q: Dimmable?  Dennis1237 years ago

How do you hook it up so that it's dimmable
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This Boost gauge does not have the ability to be dimmed from Turbosmart. In order to achieve that you will need to do some custom fabrication.

A:  you can use a Potentiometer in line with the wires powering the led this will reduce the amount of voltage that goes through the diode this will however slightly raise amps so to be safe go through a fuse. u can find a Potentiometer at radio shack for about $4
