  • Q: Boost controller  Subieboy126 months ago

Can I use this boost controller solenoid in conjunction with the grimmspeed manual boost controller?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This would replace the manual boost controller. In theory you could run both but it is highly not recommended.

  • Q: Mounting placement  LGTMATT11 months ago

I have an 07 LGT, I do not have my engine cover on anymore due to the little bit of eye candy I've been installing. I am not a fan of the mounting position for the Legacy, would I run into any problems if I bought the WRX version and mounted the bcs on top of my bracket?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Boost controller will work for both Legacy's from 2005 -09 and WRX 's from 2010-2014.

  • Q: Replacing my COBB 3 Port EBCS  turbocreep1 year ago

I'm currently pro tuned with the cobb ebcs and running stage 3 w/ an ewg. Will i need a re tune or can i just reset the ecu after swapping in the GS Ebcs?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It is heavily recommended but we cannot say for sure. I would consult your tuner to be safe but you should be fine.

  • Q: Tunning  2012 Subaru Wrx1 year ago

  • Q: Bracket  Chase4141881973 years ago

As pictured on this page is that the old style bracket or the New one?
  • Q: Safe?  mv62754 years ago

If I get this EBC and install it on my vehicle (stock 2013 WRX) Would it run safely or would the engine blow from running to lean? I plan on getting a tune later on.

A:  The Cobb off the shelf maps will not work with this EBCS because the calibrations are slightly different. This EBCS requires a custom tune.

  • Q: WRX Bracket  lawrenceon87666905 years ago

Is there any way to receive the bracket that was meant for the 2012 wrx? I'm a bit particular and the only thing holding me back from ordering from you guys is the bracket.
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Grimmspeed has redesigned the bracket and the WRX and Legacy now use the same bracket. The older bracket is no longer available.

will i need one of these with the tial ewg
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This boost solenoid is not needed for EWG, but if you plan on raising the boost beyond the EWG spring pressure, then it is highly recommended.

  • Q: Wastegate flutter  AnthonyM.215 years ago

I bought my car with this already installed as well as a tial mv-s ewg. The car was already tuned by Akuma Motorsports. I spoke to a rep there and there saying the flutter is normal for this type of system. Is it ewg flutter normal to have with this ebcs or is there any possible was to tune it out?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The best way to get rid of it is to run an MBC in line with the solenoid. The WG flutters with the BCS because the valve is rapidly opening and closing to control boost. Mike

A:  This is a solenoid and when tuned should not act any different compered to the stock solenoid other then its capability to hold a higher pressure.

  • Q: Boost Creep and Over boosting.  DSC4WRX6 years ago

Will this product resolve boost creep and over boosting issues?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Typically no. It will help keep more accurate boost levels and make adjustment out of the factory range easier, but if you are having boost creep issues more than likely you need a tune. Many issues can contribute to that, like running a catless downpipe without a tune.

    • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This solenoid accompanied with a tune can greatly reduce boost creep and over boosting. If you're referring to the VF52 this turbo does have a poor IWG design which limits the systems control over boost. Having the turbo ported or switching to an EWG set up is the best way to fix the issue. Mike

I'm driving a stock Legacy GT, and I'm about to apply a stage 2 tuning to it. If I add this BCS, will I need to do some additional tuning or will the stage 2 be enough? I'm really new to this, any help is appreciated! Thanks! :)
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This boost solenoid will require a custom tune and is not compatible with the Cobb Stage 2 maps.

If I were to install this product would I be able to drive 40 miles to a tuning shop without any problems?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  We would recommend installing the solenoid at the tuning shop. Prior to driving down there, we recommend sizing up the project to ensure it something you can do. Installing a solenoid is pretty straight forward :) Thank you.

will the accessport be able to tune this boost controller if so, what map and how? thanks RSD
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  No the AccessPort does not have any maps specific for aftermarket boost solenoids. An aftermarket boost solenoid would require a custom tune to function properly.

A:  Using accesstuner, which is now 150$, have to change the low and high wastegate duty cycle 30-40% less. Otherwise you'll overboost badly. But after some fine tuning, the boost is accurate and smooth, and very quick compared to stock.
