  • Q: Overboosting  Dangerdan4 years ago

I currently have Cobb stage 2 set up and while going WOT in 3rd or 4th gear my car will overboost and throw a CEL and a code P0244, will this combined with a protune eliminate the issue?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If you are using a catless downpipe, then that would most likely be the issue. Changing to a catted downpipe should fix the overboosting. If you are indeed using a catted downpipe, then this should be a good solution.

Should this be used for only a tuned car? Not stock tune?
  • Q: Ebcs  andewcraft10095225 years ago

Hi. Just picked my car up from shop after going stage 1 to stage 2. I also had a cobb 3 port ebcs installed. When I go to upload my new map, I found out my AP mother board has been compromised. Cobb is sending me a new unit, but I have put about 20 miles on the car with only my custom stage 1 map installed. If I try and stay out of boost as much as possible, will I have any problems from the new ebcs??
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  And EBCS will always require tuning and we cannot recommend that you run the Stage 1 map with this unit.

  • Q: tune  ryanbyrne420306965 years ago

Will I be able to tune my car for this with the Cobb AP access tuner race? Or will I need a pro tune?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You will need a calibration to program the ECU for the new solenoid. It can be done by you through race tuner if you are familiar with tuning, if not you will need to have a pro-tuner do it for you.

  • Q: safe to drive on?  cwatrobka73662316 years ago

Is this bcs safe to drive on to the tuner, or is it something that should installed there?
    • 3 of 3 people found the following answer helpful

A:  As long as you do not push the car or bring it into boost, you should be alright. It is such an easy part to install I do strongly recommend just bringing the couple tools you need and do it in the parking lot at the tuner, but it should be fine if you take it easy.

A:  Install the BCS but unplug the wiring harness to the unit. The CEL will come on but that is normal.

Can I replace the stock parts and not tune the the vehicle? And if I do what benefit do I get from if...

A:  You will require a tune for this item but it is an OEM direct fit replacement item. There is no benefit unless you are looking to increase boost and horsepower.

  • Q: cobb boost controll solenoid  HALOANDY1143746 years ago

Can you tune this with access port or do you need more sophisticated tuner?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The accessport itself can not tune for it, It will require a Custom protune to get it to work properly.

So do u suggest accessport will.b best for this device???
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  As of right now, additional tuning outside of the Accessport's Off the Shelf maps would be necessary to properly run this solenoid. Thank you.

  • Q: 2011 wrx stage 2  TheBirdWRX6 years ago

I have a 2011 wrx stage 2 and i am getting a protune soon. I was wondering if I should buy one of these before the tune? Is this a good bang for the buck?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It is a good idea as you are able to have a more stable boost control system that is easier to dial in. And the Cobb solenoid is a good product :)

  • Q: boost controller  mbarrett4256 years ago

what electronic boost controller do you recommend to run with this besides an accessport?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This would be the only one that you would need as this replaces the stock solenoid. However be aware that at this time Cobb does not offer a off the shelf map for these
