  • Q: Tuning  Reliable063 years ago

I have an 06 wrx wagon with an nvidia turbo back exhaust and Perrin intake. No cobb access port or any other modifications to speak of. Can I put this on and go or do I need to get it tuned after installing this?
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  No, you would 100% need a tune for this and i would highly recommend one anyway with the mods you have, Thanks!

  • Q: Running SD on 06 STI   bbostock18095613 years ago

I’ll be running speed density on my 06’ STI and I have on of these boost controllers. My questions is how to hook it up when I don’t have a turbo inlet pipe, I’m just running a 4” filter right off the turbo. Is there a way around this?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  You would need to add a vacuum source pre-turbo somehow. Either buy a short extension between the turbo and filter, or tap into the filter body somehow. Thanks

  • Q: Upgraded turbo and EWG  Strycn1n33 years ago

Will this work with an aftermarket turbo and external wastegate on a 2007 sti? Also is this ECBS controlled by the settings in the v3 AccessPort or does it require an external controller?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This does work with an aftermarket turbo and wastegate, but it will require custom tuning, and will not work with an existing tune or OTS map.

  • Q: Do I need a boost controller   SubieGuy33 years ago

I’m currently running a stage 1+ tune on my 2016 wrx but when I finally get a j pipe for it I’ll be running stage 2 will I need a boost controller for that or will I only need one if I go get it pro tuned ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb's OTS map will only work with the stock BCS, you'll only want this if you're getting pro tuned.

  • Q: Cobb 3 port boost control solenoid   Jesse navarro4 years ago

I have a 2013 wrx on a stage 2 + sf tune I currently don’t have a 3 port boost controller do I need one also will I get a smoother pull from it and does Cobb offer a stage 2 + sf + ebcs tune off the shelf ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This would offer better all around boost control in the vehicle and give a smoother feel between shifts/building boost. I do not believe Cobb offers an Off The Shelf Map for the 3-Port EBCS and you would need to consult your local professional tuner.

  • Q: how to tune  sloanroyal4 years ago

i just installed a new turbo the external waste gate is opening up at 4 pounds of boost. i have a tune 2 stage cob tune and its hasn't fixed the issue
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Unless your vehicle is one of those where Cobb specifically makes an EBCS Stage 2 map, you won't be able to run this with an OTS tune, and will require custom tuning.

A:  Cobb's maps also do not accommodate external wastegates, you will need to have a custom tune done.

I have an 05 STI with a stage 2 tune on the accessport. Just bolt ons mainly, cobb catback, cobb downpipe and perrin intake. Would I have to retune with this? The nearest place I know of that does tunes is 3 or 4 hrs away

  • Q: BCS  dustinpazzin35 years ago

I have a 2006 subaru legacy gt 2.5L with a 2004 jdm wrx engine swap, current mods are: Cobb sf intake, Cobb V3 accessport and nameless muffler deletes. Can i plug the boost controller in and tune it through my accessport? or will i need to get a pro tune? thanks
    • 1 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb does offer OTS maps for the EBCS for your vehicle, however, with the motor swap you'll definitely want to get a pro tune, since the OTS map is meant for the original EJ255 motor.

  • Q: 2006 WRX  Fernando C.7 years ago

If I buy this and the v3 accessport and run stage 1 will I have to have it pro tuned? Or will running stage 1 be enough?

How is this solenoid adjustable when I installed it its pushing 26 psi and hitting peak how do I adjust t ?

A:  Being an electronic unit all adjustments would have to be made through the ECU in tuning.

  • Q: ecbs and v1 tuner  AP7 years ago

My buddy wants to sell me his AP v1 for a screamin' deal. Will the new stage 2 ECBS map be compatible with that old school unit?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This will work with a pro-tune but we could not confirm the old V1 Accessport to work with COBB's more recent OTS maps and that may be a better question for COBB.

  • Q: 2007 wrx wagon  blumiez576207 years ago

i installed this yesterday with the cobb stage 1 + ebcs tune and now i am not even hitting target boost. Any ideas where i went wrong?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  I would double check all connections on the EBCS and the connections on the compressor housing, turbo inlet, and actuator. Often times, problems of this nature can be attributed to the vacuum lines being switched around. For further help diagnosing this issue, please contact us via phone, email, or chat.

  • Q: Cobb Boost Solenoid  thewyldeone86496697 years ago

Quick question, I literally just ordered the Cobb Boost Solenoid a few hours ago from your site for my 06 Limited Wagon. It say it requires a tune after install. Now I have a Cobb Accessport V3, I'm tuned stage 2 now. If I install the solenoid and reflash stage 2 again, will that be a sufficient enough tune, or will I need a protune?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The Cobb OTS maps do not correctly calibrate for an electronic boost control solenoid. You will need a protune.

  • Q: tune on 03 wrx  LX7 years ago

I've been reading around and it seems that I won't need a protune because Cobb has a stage 2+ tune for an 03 wrx. I'm currently on a Cobb Stage 2 ots map for 03 wrx. My question is, is this true? Will the stage 2+ be fine running on my car for a while ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb recently released an off the shelf EBCS map for 2.0L WRX models, and you can use the Cobb AccessPort EBCS map rather than getting a custom tune.

  • Q: Tune?  STI dude8 years ago

I have an 06 STI. Would I beable to use my V3 access port to tune this for my car?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb has a OTS Map specified as Stage 2 +ebcs that will be designed for their Electronic Boost Control Solenoid. You can download this map to your AccessPort and flash your car to the correct tune

  • Q: What would i need?  Franksterr8 years ago

I currently have an invidia catted downpipe and the sf intake. If i get the solenoid and put the stage 2 +ebcs tune on, will i be fine, or will i still need a pro tune?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Cobb's OTS map +ebcs will be designed for this, and you can simply reflash to the specific map using your Cobb AccessPort.

  • Q: With the new cobb maps will i need a tune?  daniel.elsey864978 years ago

With the new Cobb maps can i install this and use an OTS map, or with i stiil need a pro tune?
  • Q: Could you install this, then take it to the tuner?  cplavan8 years ago

Is is safe to drive this (without getting on it) to the Tuner? keeping it at low RPM'S?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  My tuner said that it was cool to drive without boost for a few days until I got to the tune. I actually ended up driving for a week or two without a tune because of some FI issues. Just stay low rpm and out of boost.
