Features & Product Details

The COBB 3-Port Boost Solenoid (BCS) is an excellent upgrade for modern turbocharged vehicles, enabling precise boost control in a tidy package that is easy to install and tune. This BCS will eliminate boost fluctuations and boost creep inherent in the OEM boost control system, providing stable and repeatable boost control to base the vehicle's tune on. It is equally capable of providing this stable boost control at stock boost levels as well as extremely high boost levels associated with big-power builds.

The COBB Tuning 3-Port BCS features 1/8" low-profile barb fittings to keep the unit compact and are nickel coated for corrosion resistance. Optional 1/4" nickel plated fittings are also available separately. Viton spools and seals are used throughout for long life and lubricated with Dow Corning silicone grease. The manual override is sealed with an O-ring, the wiring harness is sealed to the casing using a waterproof grommet and the solenoid wires are ultrasonically welded to the coil, making the device waterproof and safe to wash. The BCS is rated to operate up to 120psi.

COBB Tuning has made the COBB 3-Port BCS installation as simple as possible. It mounts in the stock location and plugs directly into the stock wiring harness, making the physical install and electrical connection as simple as possible. The BCS comes with a custom aluminum mounting bracket, stainless steel hardware, boost-line to complete all connections and zip-ties to route the boost-line neatly through the engine bay. Installation Instructions are provided, are easy to understand, and provide routing instructions for both internal and external wastegate configurations.

COBB Tuning 3-Port Boost Control Solenoid ( Part Number: 712750)
COBB Tuning 3-Port Boost Control Solenoid ( Part Number: 712750)
Cobb three port EBCS 1 month ago
4out of 5stars

one size fits most type of product. The installation left a bit to be desired. I have an 03 WRX wagon. the OEM EBCS has rubber bushings insulating the solenoid from vibrations from the car. The Cobb is not drilled for those. I drilled them myself and installed the rubber solenoids on the mounting bracket. After that it was a fantastic install. Although I may have paid another $20 if Cobb would have chosen to include proper silicone hose and tiny hose clamps instead of the rubber lines (near the turbo heat zone) and zipties. once I flashed the ECU to the +EBCS map the car ceased all boosting issues! I can reach 15+lbs of boost on the OTS map.

Necessary in place of analog actuator.  1 year ago

Huge difference over stock. Boost comes on earlier and smoother. While the Cobb OTS tune works, I wouldn't run it for long without a custom tune. I saw small knock events with regularity until I switching to custom. Stage 1+EBCS felt equivalent to Stage 2 w/stock boost controller dyno tune to my butt. Very easy to install.

Love this ebcs, BUT 1 year ago
3out of 5stars

Originally purchased this ebcs back in january of 2016 for a motor build. Got it tuned and it ran flawlessly for 19 months of daily driving, approximately 23,000 miles. Buttery smooth boost delivery even with a larger turbo. Out of the blue it died completely and it sent me down the troubleshooting black hole. Car would only make about 6lbs of boost with a bpt 20g, no CEL or any other obvious issues. Eventually figured out the ebcs was dead and popped in a new one. All boost issues were resolved and I'm back to normal. Sucks that the warranty on this ebcs is only one year from cobb, but after a lot of searching on forums I could not find a single thread that mentioned a failed aftermarket ebcs. That being said I am sure that I am one of the very few that have run into one failing.

Great Supporting Mod When Ready for More HP! 2 years ago
5out of 5stars

My Stage 2 WRX seemed to perform much smoother after switching my OTS Map from the Cobb Stage 2 over to the Cobb Stage 2 + EBCS. I noticed a smoother power band. This mod will also become very crucial when getting a ProTune in the near future. I would highly recommend. I also made an install video on my YouTube Channel: 06WRXDUDE

  • Q: how to tune  sloanroyal2 months ago

i just installed a new turbo the external waste gate is opening up at 4 pounds of boost. i have a tune 2 stage cob tune and its hasn't fixed the issue

A:  Unless your vehicle is one of those where Cobb specifically makes an EBCS Stage 2 map, you won't be able to run this with an OTS tune, and will require custom tuning.

A:  Cobb's maps also do not accommodate external wastegates, you will need to have a custom tune done.
