QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: recirculation setting  jacampos009 months ago

what setting is the one where most of the air will be recirculated back, harder or softer?
    • 0 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  To increase the spring force on the piston, rotate the cap clockwise in the direction of hard as marked on the top of the cap. To decrease the spring force on the piston, rotate the cap anticlockwise in the direction of soft as marked on the top of the cap.

A:  I know that but that doesn't answer the question, softer or harder which on will mean more recirculating air to the engine and which will be more air going out

A:  Making the spring stiffer, or harder, should keep the air in the system. Other way around to let it vent easier. Hard = Re-circulation / Soft = Atmosphere

  • Q: turbosmart blumb back bov  wrx20064 years ago

hi all ive just purchased a blumb back bov and whould like to no what setting to i set it at as i am running standard boost.do i set it at hard or soft position as i am a little confussed cheers
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There is not a standard setting to choose and you will need to determine the setting. The spring pressure is based off of the amount of vacuum the engine pulls at idle and is not related to the amount of boost pressure. If the valve flutters when releasing air, then it is too tight and will need to be set softer. If the valve is open during idle, then it is too soft and the spring will need to be tightened.

  • Q: Harder vs Softer  gabrielweil989684 years ago

What does Harder and Softer mean ? What are the advantages and disadvantages, if any, for either one ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The harder and softer adjustment is for setting the spring tension. If the spring is too stiff, then the valve will flutter when releasing air and if the spring is too soft, then the valve will stay open while the car is idling.

A:  it is the spring pre-load adjustment. Harder means adding more pre-load to the spring thereby making it stiffer. Turning the cap in the softer direction makes the valve more responsive as a result of reducing the springs pre-load.

  • Q: This one or the other recirculating one?  Demonik4 years ago

I currently run a full 3 turbo back running 22 PSI boost. I am looking to get an intake and turbo inlet pipe. Would you recommend this product or the other part TBS TS-0203-1215? Thanks RSD!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Both will be great valves.I like this valve because it is adjustable while the Kompact is not. This valve has significantly more flow capability. This is important when the boost is turned up significantly and/or when turbo upgrades are done.
