Works great

This turbosmart BOV is great quality and looks nice on the car. I did get a protune right after installation along with some other mods, so it functions flawlessly for me and hold the boost great. I did do partial atmospheric cause I'm a sucker for the noise, but you can make it full recirc if you want.

Best of all worlds.

Great construction. Love the options I get with this bov. No more worrying about boost leak because Subaru decided to be cheap and use a plastic bpv.

love the sound(bad backfire)
bulletproof090 3 years ago
the sound of the bov is amazing and I strongly recommend it. the only bad thing is it caused my 2014 wrx have some major backfire . im running it with the nividia n1 dual cat back also caused my car to backfire..........hopfully a tune will fix my problem 100% cause you don't want no backfire on a brand new car
ms3_living 3 months ago
There is actually no such thing as a backfire in modern cars, that would only be relevant if you were using a carbureted application. What you are experiencing is an afterfire, which is created from the exhaust manifold on, it is completely safe and shouldn't cause any issues for your car. You can adjust the dual port blow off valve from softer to harder until this afterfire is no longer created

COOLEST SOUND EVER!!!

I'm as happy as can be with my purchase of this Turbosmart Dual Port Blow Off Valve. I own a 2013 WRX Limited and now that I have ordered, received, and installed this item it sounds so very awesome when shifting while boosting. I don't know how any WRX owner can drive without this sound. It is the coolest sound I have ever heard. I have Rally Sport Direct to thank for supplying this item at the best price available and sending out my order the same day I made the online purchase. All of these 5 Star reviews are dead on, this product is AMAZING!!!

  • Q: Will it be okay for my Stock (ish) MS3?  tdsharp530650 22 days ago

    Answer

I want to get a BOV for my Mazdaspeed3, but I have read a little about the negatives of having a BOV without having your car tuned. Will it affect my car in a major way if I don't have a tune? Will leaving it on recirc help keep me from having issues?

    • A: You would not need a tune. This will not have any negative, long terms effects on the car. You will run slightly rich in between shifts.

  • Q: Will this fit a 2006 Sti  dylanisco0l 3 years ago

    Answer

i ran this on my 2013 wrx with a FMIC no problem now will it fit a 2006 Sti? or will the Sti also have to have a FMIC and it wont fit a TMIC for the sti

    • A: The 08-14 WRX uses a different flange than the STI and this will not fit.

  • Q: long story short  WRexX7238 3 years ago

    Answer

I want to buy this for my fiance for his 2009 WRX. He originally had a bov on with no exhaust. He bought the invidia exhaust but was not compatibale with bov. I want to make sure the dual port is what he needs for no backfire.

    • A: The blowoff valve is not located on the exhaust system and will not have any compatibility issues with other systems. This unit is partially atmospheric so afterfires can be present once installed although with it being a hybrid it is not likely.

  • Q: Sound  chk122025199 3 years ago

    Answer

What is the harder and softer knob for? is there a way to adjust the sound of the valve?

    • A: It will adjust the spring tension of the BOV. You can't adjust the sound, but you can go full atmospheric as well as full recirculating.

      Kyle A. 3 years ago
    • A: It is to adjust the spring tension so you can tune it for your desired response.

  • Q: Running 50/50  klopez204 4 years ago

    Answer

What are the long term effects if I run this on my 2010 wrx? I wanted to run 50 vent/50 recirculate but will I still be running rich ? And with that still bring up the check engine light by running that set up?

    • A: This will not have any negative, long terms affects on the car. You will run SLIGHTLY rich in between shifts but nothing excessive at all and this will not cause a CEL.
