Features & Product Details

Built on the patented Respons & TMS technology, the Deceptor Pro II takes the Respons concept even further!

How? The action of adjusting BOV volume is automated using a high-torque electric servo-motor, so you can now adjust the volume of your blow-off valve, from inside the car! Every turbo-car owner knows that while making noise is fun, there are times when you’d prefer to be seen, but not heard!

The modern and compact volume controller, with its subtly backlit volume dial, controls a high-torque servo motor which is geared to the aircraft-grade aluminum internal rotating sleeve via a precision ball-bearing supported gear train.

As this sleeve rotates, it alternately opens and closes the two venting outlets (one outlet vents to atmosphere, the other plumbs back to the turbo inlet) to divert the air in any ratio the user chooses. At each end of the rotation, either the trumpet or plumb back outlet is fully open, the other fully closed. Any combination of venting in between these two extremes is possible to achieve full, proportional volume control, from silent to very loud!

Awesome Product 4 years ago

Great quality part by GFB. Looks and feels great. This was installed on my 2006 WRX. Install time was less than an hour and is pretty straightforward. The most difficult part was finding a place to mount the controller. I ended up removing my ashtray and stealing the power from my cigarette lighter (don't use it anyways). Tucked all the wires down in the dash, and now it's in a hidden/easy flip down compartment. To me it felt like I had improved throttle response and quicker spool (not by a lot, but slightly noticeable). I keep it turned about 1/4th the way and it is plenty of noise for me. However, crank this bad boy up all the way and it is ridiculously loud. It is nice being able to change it on the fly. Especially to impress the ladies and make the other boys jealous as they have to get out, pop the hood and manually adjust their BOV. All in all it's an awesome part. Thanks to Rallysport for their great service, and GFB for a great part!

I'm a fan - 2003 WRX 4 years ago

I've had this product installed for about 9 months now, and I'm pretty happy with it. It took no adjustments out of the box, and I have had no issues with boost leak or anything of the sort. I keep it turned up about 1/3 of the way (1/3 from full CCW position, which is recirc) and it's a good balance between noise and drivability. There's plenty of wiring to run it into the cabin, and I ended up using the fusebox to the left of my knee for switched 12V and ground. Just mash it into the fuse for your stereo, wrap the other wire around a bolt and you're set!! :P

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

  • Q: Blow off valve and backfiring   Yonnie3 years ago

Hi, I have heard a lot about people having issues with blow off valves and how they said it caused backfiring without previously doing anything to there engine and just slapping the BOW on. Wondered if this product would cause my 2002 subaru wrx to backfire or cause any other problems since the subaru engine needs air flow to be recirculated and not let out into the atmosphere.
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Great question. Blow off valves will cause backfiring when the engine air/fuel ratio is off. The good thing about this BOV is it allows for you to choose the ratio of venting and recirculating. Once you have it fine tuned you should have no backfiring issues.

  • Q: size  shs1194 years ago

this might seem like a strange question but , do you happen to know the size of the controller?(LxWxH) thanks
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The approximate size is about 2.5x2.5'x1 although we do not have the ability to unbox and measure, that is just an approximation.

  • Q: How much whp will this support?  stupidadult4 years ago

Hello, Mods include: PW TMIC, up-pipe, DP, CBE, intake, FPR, Fuel Pump, Radiator, Oil Cooler. Will this support power generated on a stock turbo tune?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This BOV does not have a power limitation and as far as we know, nobody has exceeded the capabilities of this BOV.

A:  You will definitely not exceed the limits of this valve on the stock turbo. It's very rare to exceed the flow limits of this valve in this configuration, i.e. if your car is making more HP than the valve can handle, chances are you're no longer running any of the factory intercooler, piping, or BOV recirc hoses.

  • Q: Will this need more parts?  philipwatson85401405 years ago

Will this part fit on my 2013 sti directly? No further parts needed?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The blowoff valve itself will bolt directly to the 2013 STI although you will have to run power and ground for the controller which can be sourced a variety of different ways.
