A:  Brembo offers 6 front & 2 rear upgrades for the 2018 WRX. If you are referring to the 2E5.5003A 2-piston STi gold caliper upgrade, yes, there is an adapter bracket included for this installation.

  • Q: Brembo Brake Kit  Hairicanserve 2 years ago

Can this fit on the Forester XT 2016 ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Subaru uses the same front steering knuckles on almost all of their vehicles. Any Subaru brake upgrade may bolt up to your Forester front end. Brembo however does not recommend this as the vehicle dynamics vary and doing so may create braking issues. This upgrade is not endorsed by Brembo nor Race Technologies.

  • Q: Will these clear my wheels  David Edwards3 years ago

will these clear my current wheels they are 17x8 Offset: 35mm ?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It might clear but you will need to measure the wheel to be 100% certain. Your RSD rep will have the dimensions & a tutorial on how use the engineering drawing as a template. Or if you have a friend that has an STi, see if it will clear on their car. Wheel size is important but the shape of the wheel is the most determining factor. Not offset.

Will the stock 17" wheels clear these calipers, or will 18" wheels be required?

A:  Whether these calipers will fit with 17 or 18 inch wheels or not depends on the offset of the wheels. Please contact us for a template and fitment dimensions to confirm compatibility.

  • Q: Brackets for calipers  gmunoz03763504 years ago

From the pics, it doesn't seem that any brackets are included for mounting the calipers, but I wanted to make sure since these are larger diameter rotors than stock. Are brackets for the calipers provided so that they can clear the rotors? Or are the caliper mounting holes in a different location from stock to accommodate the larger rotors?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These calipers are lug mount and do not require an adapter bracket. They will bolt directly to your steering knuckle where your old calipers where. They are designed to position the caliper perfectly over the 326mm diameter front disc. The lug mount ears push the caliper higher than your stock calipers.

  • Q: Size wheels needed  Blake S5 years ago

I was just curious what Size wheels are needed to fit these? I do have aftermarket wheels (enkie RPF1s) 17x8. I believe my offset is 45. Will I need a spacer? Thanks! Blake
    • 1 of 1 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Offset can be deceiving & does not help in determining wheel clearance. The shape of the wheel (spokes mostly) are what you need to check. If your wheel will clear a friend's STi brakes, then it will clear this brake upgrade. Otherwise I suggest you ask your RSD rep to supply you with the dimensions needed so you can measure the wheels yourself. Or, send the engineering diagram to Enkie to verify it for you.

  • Q: Calipers / Rotor Color  Woadie125 years ago

In the graphics the calipers and rotors are show in Gold. Are other colors available? Could I order the calipers in red and the rotors in silver?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The calipers only come from Brembo in gold. Custom painting is available at an extra cost. See your RSD rep for pricing and terms. The rotors come with a gold zinc wash to prevent corrosion. This will wear off where the pads contact the rotor surface after the first few times braking during the bed-in procedure. Not much gold will show after that.

how will the wrx handbrake be incorporated in this brake upgrade?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is a front upgrade that does not effect the rear hand-brake. For the matching rear system, 2E5.6002A4, the rear rotor has a iron sleeve inserted inside the hat to bring the diameter down to the smaller WRX hand-brake shoes. This way you will not lose the hand-brake function.

Will these fit a 2007 Forester xt
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  The fitment would be the same as a 2004 Forester XT and Brembo posted this comment below about the 2004. Because Subaru uses the same steering knuckle on almost all models, it will bolt up. However this kit was engineered for a lighter chassis with different vehicle dynamics, therefore Brembo does not recommend it for the Forester chassis.

A:  Zach is 100% correct. Calipers are engineered & designed for a specific rotor's diameter, thickness, & annulus (pad swept area). Using them on something incorrect can prove dangerous. The system upgrades that RSD sell are complete & engineered for that vehicle specifically. Wheels are the only thing you would need to verify clearance.

The pads included in this system are rated as aggressive street & light track use. Race compounds are available. Goodridge makes the brake lines per Brembo specifications.

  • Q: Will these effect the VDC system on newer WRXs?  Scuby Doo6 years ago

I'd like to get this kit for my 2012 WRX, and I have some questions. Will they effect how the Vehicle Dynamics Control system works when correcting the intended path of the driver on a WRX, i.e. braking individual corners or both the left or right side calipers to help the vehicle turn tighter. I have read that the WRX VDC is programmed with the torque of the standard caliper/pad/rotor/tire in mind so, how will installing this kit effect the WRX VDC's reaction in an emergency maneuver? In regards to VDC is it better if you do or do not install the front kit with the matching rear OE Gold brake kit? Lastly, is all the hardware and seals the same as the oem STI calipers, can I use the OEM Subaru rebuild kit when the time comes? Thanks!
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Brembo GT /GT-R systems are designed to integrate to the vehicle stock master cylinder, ABS and traction control system. Being that Brembo is the OE supplier to Subaru and that Brembo has the most extensive knowledge of the Subaru specifically, the VDC or EBD (Electronic Brake distribution), there will be no changes to the way that these systems function.
