The Coilovers are great quality and it looks like they did not forget anything when building these. The adjustability alone make these one of the best coilovers on the market for the price point. This is a must have when modifying your car!

I daily drive a 2013 Ford Focus ST. I recently installed these coilovers on my car and I'm extremely happy with them. The ride is great, not too harsh but definitely more firm than the factory suspension. Install took myself and my mechanic friend about 4 hours to complete with all the right tools and then another 2-4 hours of height adjustment and alignment before i was completely satisfied with the results. I recommend waiting to make all final adjustments for at least 2-3 weeks as it does take some time for the springs to break in. I left the rears alone out of the box and lowered the front as far as it would go. They are very stiff at first but after almost 1 month of daily driving they have settled down nicely and are quite comfortable and even quiet on some of the rougher city streets. Make sure all collars are tight not just with the spanners included in the kit but also a good tap with a mallet and flat head into the notch on the adjustment collars ensures everything is tight and there is no unwanted movement. I also recommend relocating the factory screw that holds the cowl to the strut tower on the driver side as it interferes with the damping adjustment knob. It's pretty simple to do and there is another location to receive that screw that matches the passenger side to remedy that, hard to explain but you'll see what I mean when you get to putting everything back together. Overall great kit and well worth the price.

14 ST on BC BR coil overs on the initial drop height
Very happy with this purchase, i had never spent this much money on any car before i bought these. i put them on myself with some help from my buddies. we did the whole car in less than 5 hours from start to finish (and we could only jack 2 wheels up at a time). The ride took about a week or so to fully settle and 'break in'. AND IM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE. Corners are nothing to my car, but the ride is still better than i anticipated (aside from potholes or bad bumps in the road). I have the front adjusted to halfway between soft and stiffness (15 clicks from either max) and the rear is set on 13 clicks from the softer rate (out of 30) i have not yet lowered my car other than the initial drop that the car is lowered when you first put them on. i like the height, almost no wheel gap, but there is plenty of room to go lower. Anyway, very happy with this purchase, all of my friends have BC coil overs and are happy as well. definitely get these if you're looking for coil overs, this was the first mod i put on my car (aside from a front protection lip kit) which i would recommend for any lowered car. Great product.

Our Focus ST has been running around on the Eibach Pro Kit springs for a couple of years now and we decided it was due for a change, we liked the ride quality of the springs, and the ride height as well so we wanted to find something that would give us something comparable with adjust ability. After looking at the few options available for the Focus ST's we decided to go with the BC Racing BR coilovers. These coilovers have 30 levels of adjustment for damping front and rear, the front coilovers have camber adjustable top hats, also independent height and spring pre-load adjustments. This makes them very appealing for someone looking to get into a decent set of coilovers for occasional track use and to be able to tolerate using them on your daily driver. In the past I have read and seen several examples of coilovers that were bouncy or harsh to drive and honestly that's what I expected when we were installing these on this car. After installing them however, I was pleasantly surprised. The damping adjustment makes them very livable for driving the car on road trips/daily driving and make it feel even more capable on the track that it did with the factory springs. One thing I did notice was an increase of tire noise due to the solid pillow ball mounts on the front. We have about 1200 miles on these now and ride quality is exactly what we were looking for. We did get an alignment (as you should any time you install and suspension component) Camber was slightly out of the green as was the toe. We have all of that fixed now and it drives great! The Ride height, I wanted close to the same as the Pro Kit so we left it about the same as it was out of the box, all we did was match them up so they were adjusted evenly. You can see in the picture below that it has a good stance, without going so low that you worry about driving over speed bumps and in/out of parking lots. We still have about 1/2 inch to go higher, and close to an inch to go lower if we chose to do so. Another thing I should mention is, don't forget to tighten your collar adjustment nuts. These have been a great addition to the car and should help us get the track times down, and the price is very reasonable when you consider what you get for the money. Hope this helps Corby

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Spring rate  Ade4 years ago

I'm a bit confused over the quoted spring rates for these. The standard springs on the Focus are stiffer in the back than the front as the rear suspension calculates out to a wheel rate of 0.49. Do the quoted spring rates allow for that as I would expect the rears to be twice the value they are listed at?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Despite stock spring rates, most aftermarket brands opt for a lower spring rate in the rear with FoST coilovers, typically in the 4-6k range on standard setups.

    • Q: Br coilovers   admiral11b8 years ago

In the review they said it was out of toe, was there any other kits added to this in order to fix it or was it able to be fixed with the alignment? Just wondering if I was to need a camber or toe kit?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  Based off his review it seems that he was referring to the vehicle being out of OEM alignment specs after he installed the coilovers but before he went for an alignment. That is to be expected whenever you change the height of a vehicle as the geometry of the suspension changes from the OEM specs. The E-22-BR kit comes standard with front camber plates which can be used to adjust the camber to your desired specs and toe in the front can be adjusted with OEM components on the vehicle. The rear camber/caster/toe can be adjusted with OEM components as well. Please keep in mind that this information varies depending on how low you go with the vehicle. At some point you can be so low that the alignment cannot be brought back to OEM specs with the OEM components.
