Nice little upgrade without the need for tuning. Slightly more power at lower RPMs. No need to use the power band to move the vehicle from a dead stop. My only concern was with the stretching of the coolant lines and wires for the throttle body. But so far so good. Overall like I said nice little upgrade without a tune..
I installed these crawford power blocks with an AEM intake and Borla exhaust. Obviously there isn’t a massive HP/TORQUE gain like there would be if you installed a super/turbocharger but it made a significant difference. With the parts installed the engine feels more like a 6 cylinder rather than a 4 cylinder. I noticed that after installing these parts, the car doesn’t struggle to accelerate, especially on the freeway. Engine revs right around 2,000 RPM going 60mph+ ! As far as sound goes the power blocks in combination with the intake and borla exhaust give the car a lower, throatier rumble. However it’s not too loud, just perfect for a lil 2.0L Crosstrek. All together the three additions cost me right around $1,000. This is a relatively low price to pay for the power and performance these parts will add to your baby! I would recommend installing these power blocks with an intake and exhaust system to maximize gains and take your XV to the next level! Cheers \m/ -Kala’i
1st off, yes these are a little pricey but I wanted to give them a try. I always thought that a change to the Crosstrek’s intake runners would make a nice difference with the car (way before these ever came out). The installation is pretty straight forward. The EGR pipe bolts are probably the biggest pain because they’re hard to see & when you do, the bottom bolt towards the center of the engine bay is tricky to get to (before installation of BPBs). Seriously, these are a really nice improvement to the power the car delivers. I’m not telling you it’s like bolting on a supercharger or turbo...I’m telling you they do deliver! Seriously I don’t think anyone could go wrong with these. I do have my Crosstrek tuned. So of course I inquired about getting the tuning updated for the CPBPBs. I am looking forward to the updated tune. I was told “go ahead and install them, it won’t hurt anything. They’re good but with an updated tune they’ll be even better.” So I need to wait till he’s available for a little etuning again. Once again...,...,...Crawford Billet Power Blocks deliver! If you have a Crosstrek/Impreza, pick a set up. There’s not much in the way of increasing performance of these cars and you all know it, but these absolutely work. Randall
