  • Q: Strut bar  TonyKeoWRX142 months ago

2014 wrx with FMIC and Cusco Strut bar. Will this work with a front strut bar? Or will I need to find an alternative mounting location?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This kit's mounting location on the side of the strut tower does not fit with most strut bars. We do have another FMIC kit that is meant for a rotated turbo setup but will also work with a stock location turbo as long as the intercooler is in the front. Part number S0718-1. That being said, since the Impreza struts are so close to the firewall, the firewall acts as a natural brace. There is no chassis flex with your car that impacts drivability. Therefore, the strut brace is more of an aesthetic modification and user preference. Our record-setting race car (08 STI) did not run a strut brace as it was added weight that did not offer any benefit performance wise. Either way, we have a kit that will work for your setup. Thank you for your interest!

Currently I'm on the Stock FMIC for the 2011-2014 WRX, I plan on going PW vert cooler in the future, Will this AOS support both set ups without any issues? Thanks in advance.

I have a process west verticooler on a 14 wrx. Will this AOS fit?
  • Q: STI fitment  thacasketmaker2 years ago

Will this work on an 11 sti?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This air oil separator is only confirmed for the WRX's. We would recommend putting your car in the vehicle filter and looking at AOS setups for your car.

will this work with my perrin tmic
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  It sure will. The Perrin TMIC is a very similar dimension to the stock unit so there will be no fitment issues.

  • Q: Strut Tower Brace  uscrascal401456 years ago

2011dgmwrx wrote a good review last year about this. I hear that I need to make a new mounting bracket for this job because the in-pipe won't clear my strut tower brace. How much distance should I put between the upper and lower holes?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  When modifying or fabricating a bracket for this you will want to have the part in hand to make measurements and confirm fitment.

  • Q: Advantage?  Lazzydog6 years ago

Is there any advantage to where this AOS recirculates the oil as apposed to the prova and grimspeed type units? Also is there any drawbacks to plugging off the PCV and electronic check valve that necassary for installation (i.e. throwing check engine light)?
    • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These units seem to work a bit better for full blown race car applications. However the instal is a bit more complex. As for the PCV system, you will want to hook it up as Crawford intended this system to be hooked up and no CEL or draw backs will come up.
