Crawford V2 AOS 11 months ago

I had done a lot of research before I bought this item and decided to finally buy it. Received the item after 2 day, RSD does an awesome job of shipping the item quickly. I reviewed a couple forums to get an idea of how the install was going to go but didn't really find an exact set of instructions to help me out. Crawford made a youtube video to help but it wasn't all that great. The instructions that came with the package weren't helpful either. I ended up taking a couple hours installing this item due to lack of clear instructions. I used two different forums and the Crawford youtube video as instructions. I did get through it and everything works awesome. the item itself felt and looked great. The materials were strong and sturdy. They actually give you more clamps instead of zip ties. I would give it a 5 stars overall if instructions were more clear.

Everything came all together, had to pull up an online install instructions to put this in the car. Definitely a pain to install and took about a day to do it cause I took my time, didn't want to leave a vacuum hose disconnected. If you don't know your way around the vehicle then watch a install video on youtube for reference. Car idled funny at first start but after letting it run and gave a couple revs the system finally settled in and ran normal. Happy with the product and peace of mind is there knowing that I don't have to worry about my intake taking in oil.

For somebody who knows their way around a motor this shouldn't be horribly difficult. I saw lots of blow by oil on my intercooler before installing this aos and now there's nothing! Definitely a good investment for my Wrx

Thank you RSD and Crawford. I did this as a preventative to hopefully help my motor last longer as i push it's limits.

This has stopped my oil consumption altogether. Extreme pain to install along with Process West TMIC but so worth the end results.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Strut bar  TonyKeoWRX146 months ago

2014 wrx with FMIC and Cusco Strut bar. Will this work with a front strut bar? Or will I need to find an alternative mounting location?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This kit's mounting location on the side of the strut tower does not fit with most strut bars. We do have another FMIC kit that is meant for a rotated turbo setup but will also work with a stock location turbo as long as the intercooler is in the front. Part number S0718-1. That being said, since the Impreza struts are so close to the firewall, the firewall acts as a natural brace. There is no chassis flex with your car that impacts drivability. Therefore, the strut brace is more of an aesthetic modification and user preference. Our record-setting race car (08 STI) did not run a strut brace as it was added weight that did not offer any benefit performance wise. Either way, we have a kit that will work for your setup. Thank you for your interest!

    • Q: Fitment.  Andrew12 months ago

Currently I'm on the Stock FMIC for the 2011-2014 WRX, I plan on going PW vert cooler in the future, Will this AOS support both set ups without any issues? Thanks in advance.
    • Q: Fitment   Matty1 year ago

I have a process west verticooler on a 14 wrx. Will this AOS fit?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  There is a good chance it may not. You will most likely require additional lines and treat it as a FMIC. They haven't been tested together before as far as we know.

Will this work on an 11 sti?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This air oil separator is only confirmed for the WRX's. We would recommend putting your car in the vehicle filter and looking at AOS setups for your car.
