Features & Product Details

RallySport Direct is proud to carry the Crawford Performance Single Chamber V2 Air Oil Separator Kit designed for those who are still utilizing the top mount intercooler setup. This air/oil separator kit has been designed to help reduce detonation and to reduce the risk of engine failure. This kit is a great solution to your application's notorious oiling system issues and is the result of extensive engineering and testing using the best materials available.

Some of the key features in this air/oil separator kit include an added coolant bypass line to avoid condensation, and the can is heated for cold climates and short drives. Anytime you have any modifications that increase the power output, this means that the amount of excess oil is increased and will eventually end up in your intake system. Because oil is heavier than water, and that you have a horizontally opposed engine, then it makes it easier for oil to coat the top of your pistons.  And because oil is combustible, this will cause irregularities with the controlled explosion within the chamber and will cause multiple explosions. this is also known as detonation. The main purpose of these air oil separators is to keep the oil from coating your pistons for better performance whether it be on the track or the street.

The kit will include the can which will come powder-coated in a black finish, and it will come with all the required hoses and fittings to make this kit ready for the installation.

Notes:

  •  Designed to fit on units still utilizing the top mount intercooler. It will install on the shock tower.
  • 2002-2005 WRX - Cruise control must be removed or relocated.

Needed to remove Cruise control box to install 1 year ago
    4out of 5stars

I love this AOS, all the hoses that came were the right sizes and everything fit as it should. But there were a couple negatives to this product that I haven't seen anywhere on any of the install guides. For my 2004 wrx, where the aos is located, in the back passenger side of the engine bay is where my cruise control was located so that needed to be removed to fit the aos. This wasn't a huge deal because I rarely use it but it is a slight inconvenience

Crawford AOS v2 1 year ago
    5out of 5stars

Before I picked up this I did have a Grimmspeed aos. Did not like that, it gunked up at the aos and oil fill hole. With the Grimmspeed I did notice oil still in my intake as well as smoke during cold starts. After installing this Crawford that cold start smoke slowly went away. Love how it feels in your hand, quality made. What I like most is how it has a built in heater core to keep the blow by from gunking up and sludging the breather lines.

    Over priced  4 years ago
    2out of 5stars

It's too early to tell if the actual separator works because I just installed it. But it should have come with actual instructions. I researched extensively how to route all the hoses because the online instructions are not made for this v2 separator. I jimmy rigged it to way I think it's supposed to work. Way overpriced in my opinion

    Fitment 5 years ago
    4out of 5stars

For those of you with an ATP turbo W/ the 44mm External waste-gate, Fitment is very tight. The positioning of the two ports above the coolant output(V2), causes the hoses to just barley touch the top of the waste-gate. I used some of the supplied heat protection in this area. The dump tube does come close to the waste output on the opposite side of the separator, but should be fine as long as you use the heat protection. Also, The separator rests against the break lines. I recommend wrapping them in something, so vibrations do not eventually damage your lines. Overall this product performs very well, but for the amount that you pay, touching brake lines should not be something that is acceptable. 4 stars.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Powder coating inside AOS  Nate2 months ago

One reviewer had mentioned that they powder coated the inside and over time this paint will actually flake off and get lodged inside coolant lines. Has CP addressed this issue or does it remain?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  This is the first time I had ever heard of this, this is not an issue you will have with this aos.

    • Q: 2004 subaru forester XT - Air Oil Separator - where to mount??  ChrisMighton7 months ago

I saw the installation instructions where they relocate the wiring harness, but in the 2004 forester XT, there's something else there instead of a wiring harness. A box of some kind with some tubes going to it. Is there a good place to relocate this?? I can't even figure out what the box is on the 2004 forester XT. Any help would be much appreciated ;)
