Works for me
evildriver 8 months ago
I did a fair amount of research before purchasing this and I'm glad I chose it. I have no experience with other TMIC couplers but felt this one would fit the best, and it lived up to my expectations. Feels like a sturdy piece of equipment, much more so than my stocker that was on the verge of blowing out. I did purchase 3" t-clamps but ended up not using them as I couldn't find a way to make them work on the throttle body side (not enough room to get a ratchet in). I might recommend 3.25" t-clamps if anyone else wants to try them as the 3" was probably a bit too small. The stock worm-clams fit perfectly and look like they'll hold just fine. Fitment-wise I wanted to go with this because I'd rather work with a slightly shorter than needed coupler, as opposed to the AVO that I read was too long. I had to manipulate the TMIC a bit to get everything tightened down but nothing too crazy, and the coupler is fully seated on both sides. All-in-all, great purchase and RSD is a great website to work with.

Does its job

Install was kind of a pain. at first I didnt realize that you were suppose to reuse the factory hose clamps. After the install it go sucked off the intercooler so I then realized I had to use the factory hardware. Quality is OK. Wasn't blown away by it. could be longer and maybe even a bit thicker. The stock hose didn't seem like it was really all that bad. I replaced this when i did my downpipe so it was purely out of peace of mind.

Must Buy Throttle Body Hose
MattyChiodo33928 1 year ago
I purchased the Mishimoto throttle body hose based on other people's blogs/forums about having a slight boost leak through the OEM throttle body hose. I should have been boosting at 18PSI but max I could barely hit 16.25PSI. The boost leak sounded like a filled balloon that you pull the ends of the mouth piece and it squeaks a high pitch. Installed this hose and that leak went away. The install is a pain in the ass and everyone says it is too short, you just have to sit it on the throttle body enough to tighten the clamp around it and then getting it on the intercooler is a breeze. Would recommend this to anyone!

I installed this hose the same time with the pitch stop. What a pain in the back!!! This would have been a straight forward install but the house is slightly short on length so you have to space it evenly between the TB and TMIC. I knew it was going to be short from reading the reviews so I had anticipated it, but when it comes to install it, its hard to gage how much wiggle room you have to go back and forth. I put a little motor oil around the hose to help it slide onto the TB and TMIC. The stock hose clamp around the TB was a B*tch to remove. I had to dislocate the vacuum hoses to get a straight sight. The "Dimple" on the hose faces straight down. This will help line everything up. Thank god for that DIMPLE!!! If not I would probably have removed the TMIC a few more times. MISHIMOTO, make this hose like and 8th on and inch longer!!!!

  • Q: perrin tmic  rlewis9446695 2 years ago

    Answer

has anyone used this with the perrin tmic? how was the fitment?

    • A: If the car is a 2008-2014 WRX. There should be no fitment issues, as both are designed to be a direct replacement.

  • Q: Clamp Size?  thescreensavers 4 years ago

    Answer

What size T-Bolt Clamps do I need for this? And we need a total of two correct?

    • A: The outer diameter of this hose is 3.15 and the 3.25 clamps should work well for this. Two clamps are used.

      Zach G. 4 years ago
    • A: I tried 3 progressively larger sizes and wound up using the largest, a pair of 76mm to 84mm (2.99 to 3.31). The problem is that most, if not all t-bolt clamps are 19mm (3/4) wide, which just barely fits. Installation difficulty is compounded by the inaccessible location of the TB in my 2012 WRX. I could only find worm-gear clamps in a narrower size, and they don't clamp evenly.

  • Q: Is this an afta-maf hose?  vthang73 4 years ago

    Answer

Is this an afta-maf hose? Thanks.

    • A: This is not an afta-maf or post maf hose. This connects the stock intercooler to the throttle body.
