I'm already impressed with the small power gain and engine sound improvement from this product. The install went perfectly, thanks for the detailed instructions with photos, very helpful. Would definitely recommend for quality aftermarket product without high cost of entry. See photo for before and after comparison.
I added this intake to my 17 Forester XT after speaking to the manager of my Subaru service department. I had a K&N drop in filter already and it didn’t do much. He told me that the new FA engines really come to life with an intake. I also have a WRX midpipe and a muffler delete. I’m not running a tune and despite what everyone says, I’ve owned two STIs and had CAI and didn’t tune them, without problems. I had my last STI for 10 yrs with over 100k, no issues. My peak boost regularly hits 19-20 now from 15-16 before and my car is fast as hell. This is the first Cold Air Intake that actually did something. Thanks
Just installed this intake on my car, it is good product and great sounds. Love it.

Q: Aem cold air intake Jeff4 years ago
Hi, I own a Subaru forester xt 2015 and im having a hard time deciding weather I should get a short ram intake or a cold air intake like the aem one.? What would be the best choice? Also what is the oem intake thats currently on forester xt 2015 would you say it's a short ram or cold air intake? I live in Canada and it gets pretty darn cold down here.. just looking for something that would be best for the car and specially with the weather that we got here. Thanks so much!

A: That's a great question and there really is no "wrong answer" on this.. The OEM intake is nothing more than just the factory panel style filter and factory piping, so when you upgrade to an aftermarket intake you are getting more aiflow into the system with the improved design of piping and larger filter. With this cold air intake having an airbox, I would assume it would be a good option despite your weather conditions.

Q: Aem intake fitment agrasso123828265 years ago
I just recently purchased a 2016 Subaru Forester XT premium and see you have no parts listing for this vehicle yet. Can you confirm if this intake will fit a 2016 model as well? Common sense tells me yes but I could not get a response from AEM regarding fitment. Thank you!

A: AEM claims that tuning is not required, however we strongly recommend a custom tune with any aftermarket intake.
