The slave bearing began to make noise about 5k after install. Got about 60k out of the clutch time to replace
After break in, this clutch is right there. Does take a little getting used to from the stock clutch, but well worth it when you do. Slip it a little more on easy take off. Rev the engine and let it fly and it hooks up hard. Nice. Pricewise the stock clutch is about the same price from Subaru but tons better.
This clutch replaced a worn out, 150k mile (original!) clutch on my '02 WRX. It was put on with an ACT Street Light Flywheel. When I picked the car up from the mechanic, he warned me that the clutch grabbed very aggressively. I stalled it twice as I was pulling it out from his shop. That was my first impression of the clutch, but I also knew that I needed to wait until the clutch had a chance to break in. During that time I had to learn how to compensate for the lightened flywheel and learn how the clutch liked to engage. Now, a month and a half later, the clutch is fully broken in and I am enjoying how it behaves. It has gone from being an on/off switch to progressive engagement that even my wife (who normally drives automatic) and drive without problems.
I've had this clutch in my WRX for about 30,000 miles now and at first when I was only making 250 wtq it would grab really well but once I put in my new turbo and started making 310 who and 280 wtq it has started to slip when I shift at the 6800-7000 range. But only after I shift into the next gear, it never slips before I shift. I didnt think I would have any problem with this torque number but I guess I was wrong.

Will this clutch fit the OEM Flywheel on a USDM 2004 Forester XT 5mt? I've asked around and people say it fits, but you've responded to another similar question saying it won't? Thanks!

Will this clutch work well with a 350whp forester?

A: It will depend on how much wheel torque you're making. Assuming that's around the 350wtq mark as well, this would be a good choice, but you'd be right around what this clutch is rated for. The Xtreme Duty might be a better option if you plan on adding power in the near future or if you want some headroom.

Q: Fitment on tranny swap Nelson Asay5 years ago
Hi! So I am looking into swapping my 5 speed with a 6 speed. But I wanted to know will this clutah work and fit with a 6 speed transmission? Thanks!

A: No, this clutch is for 5-speed transmissions found in Subarus like the 2002-2005 WRX. You are going to want to match the clutch with the transmission you are swapping with.

Q: Autox Gearhead264816506 years ago
Hi, I currently have an 02 wrx that I Autox in SMS. The car makes around 350 to the wheels and I am in the market for a clutch that will withstand 200+ Autox runs. I have 2 seasons on the one I have now (not including the prior owner) which is a stage 2 (or as I was told)

A: This clutch is rated at 430ft/lbs at the crank so 350ft/lbs at the wheels might be just about where the torque capacity sits depending on drivetrain loss. Mileage or runtime is difficult to determine and depends on how the vehicle is used.
