This product is an absolute nightmare to get to fit. In fact as I’m writing this right now, 6 months after the original install, I’m working on refitting it for the third time as it has slipped off from being too large to fit in the stock location.
Its a real tight fit in my 04 Sti. I removed the intake and TVGs as i was upgrading the fuel system at the same time. Im still in the tuning process but it sounds great and is much more rigid and smooth than the factory unit . The main reason for purchase was price over factory
I bought this for my 2005 sti and tried all sorts of different methods to put this on even taking off the whole intake manifold just to try and sand which in and it will not fit at all. It rubs all over the fueling system and it was a bigger headache then what it’s worth. I’m sure it works well with newer wrx/sti but not gd chassis. The build of the pipe itself is very well put together just to big

Q: Tune required? Rusi K.3 years ago
Hello, I have a 2019 STI with the Cobb SF intake and airbox along with Stage 1 +SF and recently bought the Cobb inlet. Do i need to get a protune to support? Contacted Cobb, they said i dont need a tune before i bought, thhen a day before inlet arrived, they said i need a stage 3 tune plus fukl fuel upgrades which sounds unreasonable. Trying to get to the truth here and appreciate some additional insight as to why tune vs not and what risks could be if s tune is needed, but not done (gain less power vs cause damage if not tuned further) as i am sure more are wondering the same. Thanks!!!

A: No, if you have the accessport, you can run their intake and this inlet on the +SF map without a problem. Thanks!
