Features & Product Details

RallySport Direct proudly carries a great selection of high-performance braking solutions brought to you by DBA.

On this page, you are looking at the DBA 5000 Series T-Series Slotted Rotor. This particular rotor has been designed with several key features which include the likes of T3 Slot 48 precision CNC machined slots. These are tri-symmetrical curve slots that will dampen the vibration which makes for a quieter, more responsive, and smoother brake pedal feel. This rotor also has been designed with the Kangaroo Paw 144 diamond teardrop pillar ventilation system which increases the surface area resulting in greater heat dissipation which will minimize brake fade and increases braking performance. The materials used to develop this rotor are XG150 High Carbon Alloyed Iron which allows for a greater thermal capacity which allows the rotor to handle constant extremes of heat over extended periods of time which will minimize the risk of warping or cracking.

Got these on sale maybe a year back and they have taken the beating without any issues. Straight forward Installation assuming the caliper bolt doesn't snap off.. In which case apply some copper anti seize for the future. Pretty good value and visual appeal

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is how well these appear to be made. I couldn't find any type of imperfection with either of the rotors. Everything feels sturdy. The install was on my 06 STi which is exclusively a Summer car, so they have not yet been tested, but I wanted to get a photo posted up so you could see what they look like behind OEM rims wheels. I'm planning on on a set of HPS pads to run with these and will write an updated review once I have some time on them. These were about half price when I got them, so they are an excellent value for me especially because there aren't that many ways to reduce drive train weight, and this works out to be losing roughly 4-5 LBS of rotating unsprung weight - which is the best type to lose.

Purchased these rotors awhile back and have had nothing but problems with them. I installed these rotors correctly according to the manuf. instructions, yet they still pulse when applied. I am more than certain it was not an installation error or lack of knowledge as I have performed brake jobs on vehicles from Audi S4s up to Audi R8s, couple GTRs, and a handful of Lambos to name a few. From what I understand, DBA is a bit of a pain to go through when i comes through warranty issues with their products so I know replacements wont issued.

If you track a big heavy car like a STI then brakes take a lot of abuse, the nice thing about these is beyond their performance they help keep your hub cool. Noticeably cooler than the DBA 4000's. They both last about the same and it does take a few sets of replacement disks for the 5000's to be cheaper but if you track your car they do eventually end up having cost savings as well.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    • Q: Weight?   Jackson2 years ago

What's the weight of each rotor with the hat? I know the 4000 series is 18lbs, are these lighter?
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These are actually a bit heavier at 20lbs, it seems odd I know, but with the added mass you do have a larger heat sink where it matters and better cooling from the rotor as well. Hope this helps!

    • Q: dimensions  e chavez3 years ago

im currently in the market for 2 piece rotors to replace my ap racing 2 piece rotors as i didnt like them as much, i need 350mm diameter rotors, what diameter are these rotors? or what options do you have with a 350mm diameter? thanks
      • 0 of 0 people found the following answer helpful

A:  These are 326mm rotors. I would recommend checking with AP Racing to see what diameter and width they recommend for replacements before ordering, we may have a couple kits that would work.

    • Q: Do they make a 5000 series for the rear?  XxSJC16xX591873 years ago

If I were to get these rotors for the front of the car, would I have to get the 4000 series for the rear? I don’t see a 5000 series listed for the rear brakes. Thanks for any info!

A:  Please contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance, as they would need to confirm a few things on your vehicle to correctly answer your question.

    • Q: slotted or slotted and drilled  Buschbebad8 years ago

Recently i started tracking my 11 sti and had a brake failure. Im going about it in a when it fails upgrade it attitude so im looking for a 2 piece rotor and I am curius the difference between slotted or the slotted and drilled. whats the best setup? plan on doing stainless lines dot 4 dluid and better pads. what do you think? thanks a lot! you guys rock!
      • 2 of 2 people found the following answer helpful

A:  If tracking, we always suggest the 2-Piece slotted T-3 rotor. But remember the rotor is only one part of the braking system, so pad selection, proper bedding in, warming up and cooling down is important on the brakes. SS lines are good and so is the dot 4, but always check your rotors after each track session, and look for heat cracks (Which is normal) and if not sure, always ask. Regards, Mark (DBA)

A:  The DBA 5000 would be an excellent 2 piece choice. It tends to be seen that drilled have the potential to crack if not properly cooled. So for most people the slotted is the best way to go. Slotted and drilled tend to be a more track specific setup.

A:  Under no circumstances should you ever use a slotted AND drilled rotor on a race track. They will crack. I've seen 3 cars totally demolished by using slotted AND drilled rotors from the best companies out there. They are for SHOW USE ONLY.
