Moroso Steel Oil Pan w/ Pickup
Subaru Models (inc. 2002-2014 WRX / 2004-2014 STi)
Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries a great selection of quality oiling upgrades and enhancements brought to you by Moroso.
This is the Moros Steel Oil Pan that includes the pickup. Moroso Oil Pans are wet sump pans intended for street-performance machines that occasionally see some track time. They are modified with a Deep Sump for increased capacity to improve oil control under hard acceleration and to help the engine run cooler. Moroso Oil Pans are designed for a simple bolt-on installation.
Additionally, deep Sump pans offer improved oil control over stock pans because of their increased capacity. Constructed w/ a one-way stationary baffle, it keeps oil contained in the pickup area to prevent oil starvation under hard acceleration.

My engine builder recommended this because I was already in the hole for a new a engine rebuild, and this was a better value than the Killer B set up. Having the studs is a nice touch in place of the pan bolts. ** I had him also install a FUMOTO valve (T-204) 3/4 x 16, he made it work with some additional thread sealant. The shape of the drain is not like the OEM pan, but he made it work.
Excellent Pan! We were looking for increased oil capacity for our v5 Ej207 with ross pistons, htuff rods and new crank (cross drilled) and 12mm oil pump and fpgreen. redline is at 8500 rpm.
I was surprised how easy the pan was to install, and I did it on my back on oil change ramps. Took 2.5 hours and I took my sweet time. The worst part was getting the stock one off and getting the dipstick tube back in. It wasn’t bad but I had to get the wife to push down while I wiggles it in from below being careful to not cut the o-rings. I would and will buy this again. Also great that it comes with the pickup. I used the killer B windage baffle. I highly highly doubt that this would work with the killer B pickup
It's actually 3/4 x 16 and not magnetic. I ordered a Fumoto F101 (which is 1/2 x 20) but I would have needed to get the T-204 (3/4 x 16). See http://www.wrshose.com/images/products/fitting_size_chart.jpg Great pan though, fitment was superb. No leaks. Just need to update the drain bolt size in the description to avoid having other people get the wrong aftermarket valve.
They must have changed something with the design of this pan, just eyeballing it it looks like 3/4 NPT and is NOT magnetic..

Q: oil drain plug size whydontusendmesomething267911 year ago
What is the correct pitch to get? The listing says one size, a reviewer says another. I want to make sure I order the right one the first time so I don't have to return a incorrect one.

Will the 02 wrx dipstick and tube work for this? Installing a hybrid engine (2.5 w/2.0 heads) and wanting to utilize stock tube and stick if possible.

A: It would not work, you would need the STI dipstick as it is longer.

A: Sadly we can not confirm fitment for aftermarket parts with other aftermarket parts. We recommend reaching out to Moroso to inquire about their fitment with other brands.

A: EJ oil pans do not use a gasket, Moroso recommends using high temp RTV to seal the oil pan, such as Fuji Bond.

Q: Swinging trap door? KellyD 2 years ago
Where is this alleged swinging trap door? I just received mine and there is no such baffle in the pan as described

A: This pan has a stationary baffle, which is meant to redirect oil towards the pickup opening. This was a phrasing error in our listing, and has been corrected.
