Before I installed the product I messaged faction fan to get more information on what to set them at for the height drop I was looking for and they said it varied from vehicle to vehicle, I was more or less just hoping for a ball park but after installing them I figured it out. They ride just like I want and they look great and are super easy to install overall great product, but when I went to get my alignment done I needed to adjust the camber 2 degrees and again they said that the camber range can vary from vehicle to vehicle. I’m sorry but if your designing a part for a specific vehicle. I.e. 2015+ wrx you should have some idea of a range.
These coilovers far exceeded my expectations. For relatively cheap adjustable coilovers, I was concerned they’d be stiff as hell even on the softest setting, yet handle like mush. I was extra worried that they wouldn’t be drivable on surface streets at anything above 8 clicks (25% up). Not only do they handle great at any setting, obviously the stiffer the better, but they’re relatively comfortable at stock preload and very smooth at the softest setting. There’s also a noticeable, positive difference in steering feedback. Lowering was easy and the car looks great, and the max camber is effective and looks mean. The red top hats look great in the engine compartment. I had BC Racing coilovers previously which run $1,000 (~$150 more) and the FR-Spec is better all around IMO. For a relatively new company, FactionFab hit these right on the head. All of that said, if you’re more concerned with look and ride quality over performance, the F-Spec might be the better option for you. The FR can get bouncy but my STi now absolutely eats turns.
These are the first coilovers I've ever purchased and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Though the springs are quite a bit stiffer than any regular lowering spring, the FR-Spec coilovers are still very comfortable and streetable for daily driving from full soft to 10 clicks. It's wasy to tell the front left form the front right, just ensure that the brake line bracket orientation matches the same orientation of the unit you're removing. I'm still experimenting with them, they're holding up well and I'm looking forward to getting some track time on these as well. Please don't shy away from these because of the price... these are a DEFINITE outlier to the old "you get what you pay for" adage.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Drop height Shipping time2 years agoIm confused as to how low these can go. Its says maximum 2 inch drop, so it only able to drop 2 inches from stock height? Or can you co lower than 2 inches? I have a 2006 sti and in trying to have no fender gap at all.

A: The listed specs in the instructions do indeed reflect a maximum drop height. The biggest factor to this spec is preventing the shock body from contacting the axle boot, so it is a real limit. However, the F-Spec can go about 3/8" lower than the FR-Spec in the front due to the top hat design, so if low is your goal we would recommend going with that model. Also note that this specific model is for the 2015+ and will not fit your 2006 STI.Gregan @ FactionFab 2 years ago
