Grimmspeed Top Mount Intercooler Silicone Coupler Kit Black
Subaru Models (inc. 2002-2007 WRX / 2004+ STI)
Features & Product Details
If you're having boosting issues, and perhaps aren't hitting target boost numbers, then your factory intercooler couplers could be leaking from a hole or a tear. After a certain amount of time, the factory intercooler couplers can become weak, and will expand under pressure. The will eventually fail, and your car will not be happy about it. Luckily Grimmspeed has the right components to get your car back on the road again. Their Top mount Intercooler Silicone Kit has been fabricated from high-grade 5-ply silicone with smooth interior walls to minimize turbulence. These couplers also have heat resistant reinforcement properties which will provide longevity for long-lasting performance.
Stainless Steel High-Torque Clamps are provided to make for a ready installation.
FITMENT NOTE: These are only confirmed for STI or Grimmspeed y-pipes and WILL NOT fit WRX or Forester XT intercooler stock y-pipes. The elbow coupler is sized to fit multiple turbo setups, some trimming may be required.

Fitment was ok but not the best for my 04 fxt with a large TMIC from godspeed. From the intake to the TMIC was too short. And did not allow me to bolt the TMIC down to the brackets.
It's a great quality product. But I wish it was already the correct size. I messed up during the trimming to fit and had to buy another set.
I got this coupler kit to replace the expensive red OEM turbo-to-intercooler hose that had been slipping off of my turbo and leaking. Compared to the stock hoses, these are much more pliable and make reinstalling the intercooler 1000x easier. They also add a nice aesthetic touch to the engine. As others have mentioned, some trimming of the turbo-to-intercooler hose was required to fit my OEM turbo, but it is not difficult to trim. If your OEM turbo-to-intercooler hose is cracking or breaking, I would definitely recommend buying this instead of shelling out $380 for the OEM part.
I wish they would just make it the right size, because the trimming is a pain in the butt and it ends up looking ragged and ghetto.
Required trimming of the elbow as it is too big to let the intercooler fit properly in its stock position. Had to cut approximately half an inch off of the portion that couples to the turbo outlet, and approximately an inch off of the portion that couples to the intercooler Y-pipe. Would be great if it didnt require going at it with an exacto knife.

A: The diameter are stock sizing, but technically the elbow coupler is a bit longer than stock so that you can trim it to fit a variety of turbos, you may want to clarify that otherwise people might think they're identical and be surprised if they have to trim them.Devan M. @ RallySport Direct 3 years ago
