Features & Product Details
RallySport Direct proudly carries a great selection of quality aftermarket performance products brought to you by GrimmSpeed.
This is the GrimmSpeed Limited Catted Downpipe. This downpipe is the result of countless hours invested in research and development to provide the performance consumer with a quality product guaranteed to deliver performance. This is a direct replacement of the OEM downpipe that is highly restrictive and leaves much room on the table for improvement. The GrimmSpeed unit combines smooth bends and a larger piping diameter to remove as much turbulence from the exit path of the turbocharger which will add more horsepower, and more torque while reducing the turbo lag.

I had this installed along with getting a tune and this has made probably the most dramatic difference of any part so far. My turbo spools earlier and so much harder. The build quality is beautiful and the attention to detail is excellent.
Honestly, I love it, but unfortunately I can’t write a review of the downpipe itself due to install of tomei’s unequal length headers and uppipe all at the same time in my ‘13 WRX. It is RIDICULOUSLY loud and personally I love it. But then again that’s probably the new exhaust manifold. Spool is a lot quicker and you definitely feel the torque. It’s sooooooo nice to hear the turbo whistle. However I did run into a short issue with an exhaust leak from the flange of the cat-back to the downpipe, decided to flip the gasket over and it did help alittle bit but it was still leaking. Ended up buying another gasket and the same problem occurred, can only assume the flange from the downpipe was warped because I never had an exhaust leak from the stock catalitlic converter? Ended up just using Permatex exhaust gasket repair and it sealed it right up!
Fit my 2016 STI perfect after trimming the factory heatshield. Seems to be performing well with the Cobb Stage2 OTS map and fitment was perfect for my Tomei Expreme Ti Catback. Only gripe was the bell shape of the DP near the turbo manifold bolts made things a tight squeeze for wrenches but that seems to be more a limitation of going with a higher diameter downpipe than anything else. Also removing the TMIC helped with the install big time.
I bought this downpipe because of all the awesome things that I have heard about it. I was not disappointed, The quality of the downpipe is amazing, it is a piece of art! I almost did not want to install it because it is so gorgeous. Noticed better throttle response and less lag right after installing it with the accessport stage 2 map! If you are thinking about getting this downpipe stop thinking about it and just do it!
Unbelievable fit and finish, superb workmanship. Made in the US. Excellent mod, great performance with a good tune. Highly recommend.

Q: AEM Wideband Jason Z.2 years ago
I plan on installing an AEM wideband with this and taping into the factory secondary O2 sensor to monitor on a Cobb Accessport. For this application would I use the forward or rear O2 bung?

A: For the Wideband sensor, you would want to use the upper bung that sits on the top of the downpipe right next to the turbo. You'll want to keep your stock O2 sensor in the lower bung. Thanks!

Q: Fitment stevemcfadden11808913 years ago
Will this fit with the stock exhaust or will I need an adapter? Anything else special I’ll need to fit this? Replacement bolts? Replacement turbo heat shield? Replacement catback hangers?

A: This will work with your stock exhaust. GrimmSpeed offers an adapter to make it perfect. Depending on the age of your car and miles, you may want to replace the studs in the turbo. You will need to trim your stock heatshield or buy an aftermarket.
