You always remember your first car. As an automotive enthusiast, the goal is simple: a car that sends twinges of excitement through your body when you catch a glance or hear a rumble. Fifteen-year-old Jackson Smith, living in Park City, Utah, is no different. With his driver’s license on the horizon, he wants the quintessential "cool" first car, but with the added need for safety as a first-time driver in a town known for its winter-driving conditions. Jackson found himself a “new-to-him” 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i and purchased it sight-unseen without much knowledge of the vehicle or cars in general.

In an attempt to learn more, Jackson found himself watching RallySport Direct videos and soon after asked Rick for some help; not really expecting a response. We heard Jackson’s shout out for help and saw this as an opportunity, not only to help a local kid build his first dream car, but as a way to educate him and introduce him to quality parts and brands while welcoming him into the Subaru community.

We met Jackson, thoroughly checked out his ride and set out to make it safe, reliable and cool. But, like most projects, what can go wrong, does. We have big plans for this build, so follow along with us on our journey to transform this Impreza into the HyperHawk.
