2003 - 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8/9

The 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8/9 were the first of the Lancer Evos to reach the United States. Brought in one year after the Subaru WRX, they created a rivalry that became a 13 year battle. The Evo 8/9 came in 3 models with the MR and Base Evolution being the most popular. The third was the hardcore RS that was lighter and more track oriented than the other two. The Base model came in a 5-speed manual with the MR having the 6-speed and an aluminum roof amongst other goodies. All models came with the legendary 4G63 that produced 271 HP and 273 lb-ft. The 4G63 is one of the easiest engine to modify to create higher horsepower numbers with little work. The 4G63 lived on until the Evo 9 ended in 2006.
