If you know that your engine is sound, and that you don't have any boost leaks yet you're not hitting target boost numbers, then your factory catted up pipe may be the culprit.
For those of you looking to upgrade the uppipe in your Subaru WRX/STI among other models, Invidia has provided us with their 304 stainless steel uppipe. These uppipes with feature a provision for your factory EGT sensor, therefore no CEL fix is required.
This uppipe will work with any turbo that can mount to the stock uppipe location. Expect better exhaust flow and faster spool up times. New replacement studs will be included.

Quality part! Just needs to be cleaned first

Recently got this uppipe, and my first impressions were great! Very good-looking part that is very solid, with nice welds, and just all-around great build. Like other reviewers have mentioned, there was a lot of residue on the inside of the pipe. I just got a dollar store toilet brush, dipped it in soapy water and went to town. Ran a thick cotton rag through the pipe a few times, and voila: shiny interior! Kind of weird that Invidia wouldn't clean out the inside after fabrication, but it is seriously an easy fix. Other than some locked-up nuts on the DP (get out the PB Blaster!), the install was not too hard- took me around 1.5 hours total, and that was with a trip to Lowes to buy a replacement socket. Even though my OEM uppipe didnt have the pre-cat that I was told it did, the new pipe has a slightly bigger ID, and can move more air through it. I can tell that the turbo spools a little bit earlier than before. Overall, not a huge performance boost, but definitely a solid piece that is build really well!
Warped flanges on turbo and header side.

Used this for a 2 years. I wouldn't really recommend it. I found warped flanges on both sides of the uppipe and one of the studs fell out.

I Installed the invidia catless uppipe on my 2005 Forester XT. The pipe fit flawlessly was simple to install after removing the old catted pipe( not so easy). Installed along with a larger top mount intercooler (STI) there is a noticeable power increase and a slight sound increase. Came with some cool decals. Great product for the price.

I love this uppipe, looks great, fits perfect, bought the grimmspeed gaskets to go with it. Pretty painless install. Highly recommended
Great quality up pipe

I had previously installed an 06 STI up pipe on my 02 WRX so I didn't have any problems installing this Invidia pipe. Once the motor is jacked up there is lots of clearance. Installed 7 months ago and still going strong with tons of abuse. Only problem I see is that the inlet is larger than the fire ring on the gasket, but I haven't experienced any leakage yet.
Q: Uppipe and Turboback Blubaruwrx 10 days agoAnswer
I recently bought a 2011 wrx with a Q300 turboback. I read that the turboback doesn't include a uppipe. Is this true and are there compatibility issues with uppipes connecting?
A: The turboback exhaust system refers to the turbo, back. So everything from the turbo all the way back which would be just the downpipe and exhaust. The up-pipe connects to the turbo which provides the exhaust gases to the turbo. But no their will be no fitment issues with mounting this to your vehicle.

I have a 2010 sti hatchback. Will I need the up pipe with or without the EGT bung? Will there be any issues with inspections for emissions? Or CEL codes problem?
A: Your vehicle should not have an EGT sensor in the uppipe and we aren't able to confirm if it would cause an issue with emissions.

Q: fitment and tune D0ct0rR0ck 2 years agoAnswer
I have a 2002 wrx. Just wondering if this will fit the stock exhaust manifold and will I need to do a tune after. my car is stock but looks like it's got a bigger carted uppipe now so it's leaking badly. Thank you in advance!
A: This is a direct fit for the stock manifold, a tune can help increase boost and performance.

i have a 2004 subaru wrx will i throw a CEL with this up pipe? do i have to do the resistor mod do you know if a 2004 wrx EGT is on the headers or on the up pipe?
A: This uppipe has a bung for the stock EGT sensor, and you should not have a check engine light as long as you reconnect the EGT sensor. Stock Subaru EGT sensors are only in the uppipe.
