Setup is tomei equal length header, tomei expreme ti catback and invidia catted downpipe, umm yeah it will wake the dead if it hasn't already. Already purchased an invidia q300 hoping to quiet it down a bit, as i have no doubt this may cause problems in the future. However, I absolutely LOVE this catback, the sound with the stock headers + stock downpipe was very nice. Was still loud if you really hammered it but was bearable. And installing this catback would've been literally 10 mins if I didn't have to torch off the stock catback, even then it was maybe an hour tops for install. I will try to get a video and post it to youtube so others can hear that combo as i couldn't find anything with that setup. It sounds amazing but its way too loud at the most annoying rpm range @ 3000 rpms, it does tapper off but still loud...and driving an sti shifting at 2500rpms is a flipping pain and is ZERO FUN.

Best exhaust, worth every penny

I have had this exhaust now for 3 years on my 2004 STI. If you wonder what it sounds like, if you've ever played the game Dirt 2 in the beginning there's a Subie doing donuts on dirt, the exhaust sounds exactly like that. I had some fitment issues but fixed it loosing everything up and tightening it all back up. Just make sure if you want to reposition the hanger then you need to make sure the shop uses Ti to put it back on instead of steel.

Tomei Ti VS. SPT catback
DJHR 3 months ago
Tomei is so much better then anything for the fact its 100% titanium. Not annoying like SPT drone, because there is zero drone at highway speeds and super light 16lbs. almost the same tone yet not to loud in comparison. don't go with anything else Tomei is top of the line.

Best exhaust ever

This exhaust weighs next to nothing. Made out of titanium it gives a very distinct exhaust note that can not be found with other exhausts. Yes its loud when you get on it but under cruise its as quiet as the rest of the cat backs. Would recommend this one hands down.

LOVE IT!!!!!

  • AnswerQ: Tomei and the blue tip  bummerrrr 4 months ago

Can I take a torch to the exhaust and the tip and make the whole exhaust blue like the tip?

    • A: It is not recommended that you torch the whole system.

  • AnswerQ: They are differing lengths. The JDM version will only work with a JDM downpipe.  Nimbus 5 months ago

My 2014 sedan STI is bought in Qatar. I was wondering what exhaust I should go with if my car is EDM. JDM or EDM. I will buy the 3 inch adapter from grim speed but I dont know what I should get I am going to ship it out all the way to the middle east so I NEED IT WORKING PLZ ;( Thank you

    • A: We can only confirm fitment for USDM vehicles and do not have a way of knowing the length of your vehicle's downpipe. If you replaced the downpipe with a USDM length aftermarket downpipe as well as a USDM length aftermarket catback it should fit with no problems.

  • AnswerQ: is the silencer safe to use?  dvdan 5 months ago

looking to drop weight without making the car loud, with the silencer on Tomei says not to push it to avoid damage. Damage to what? with the silencer on is this more restrictive than the stock exhaust? can I tune for this thing with the silencer on and have a reliable stage1 / stage2 setup that won't cause problems pushing it hard?

    • A: The silencer can cause excessive back pressure on high power applications, which is fine for normal driving, but not recommended for spirited driving. Too much back pressure can reduce power and raise engine temps, which could eventually cause engine damage. On a Stage 1 or Stage 2 car, the silencer will not affect back pressure as much and would be similar to the stock catback. You should be able to tune with the silencer installed, and we recommend closely monitoring the exhaust temps when tuning.

  • AnswerQ: is the silencer on or off in the video?  dvdan 5 months ago

Is the silencer a separate part from the resonator? is the silencer on or off in the video? with silencer is it still a loud exhaust or is it reasonable? asking b/c I'm interested in weight savings, not pissing off my neighbors or bringing attention from cops.

    • A: The silencer is the cone or funnel looking part in the parts list photo. The silencer installs in the muffler tip and is not installed in the video. The silencer does help bring volume down a bit, but this exhaust is generally going to be loud although that can depend how you drive.
