I ordered this as a replacement for my VF39 on my 06 STI and it is an excellent bit of kit. Install was a breeze, getting the old one off was not. This turbo seems a little louder in spool up and sounds great when it blows off between gears. Remember when installing a turbo yourself to prime it with a little oil first. Great product!

  • AnswerQ: VF39 to VF43  guest55c5274fcaae52f5098b5983 7 months ago

I have a 03 WRX running a VF39 and had it tuned a few years back, if i swap to the VF43 would a re-tune be required? They seem to be essentially the same turbo. Thanks

    • A: Anytime you switch turbochargers you will require a retune, although it may not be as crucial from a vf39 to vf43 we cannot confirm there would be no issues.

Does this turbo come with new hardware? Down pipe bolts or up pipe bolts?

    • A: The turbo to downpipe studs are pre-installed, other than that no new hardware is included.

hi, i am looking for a vf43 for a customers 56 plate sti 2.5. would this turbo be right and how much would it be posted to england? the numbers on the old unit are vf43, 0509, rhf55, 20023e, 14411aa620, many thanks Mansfield Autoworks

    • A: This turbo is the factory turbo that came on the 2007 STI and the part number is 14411AA620. This should be the correct turbo for your application and you can obtain a shipping quote by adding this to your cart and entering your address information at the bottom of the page.

  • AnswerQ: Boost Creep  iBeatRihanna 1 year ago

The vf39 is known to have boost creep with a free flowing exhaust. Is the wastegate on the VF43 any better than the VF39?

    • A: The VF43 and the VF39 are very comparable turbos. To my understanding the VF43 is designed to be more resilient and prevent the notorious wastegate crack.

This will bolt right up right? With of course proper supporting mods I have bigger TMIC, intake 3 exhaust and fuel pump, when i go to put this on when getting tuned should i bother with bigger injectors as well?

    • A: The 06 WRX comes stock with 565cc injectors which is the same size as the STI of the same year. This turbo will bolt up just like your TD04 but will require the proper supporting mods and a tune, as you mentioned. Thank you.
