The Prova Subaru Air Oil Separator is a great way to cut down on unwanted oil in the intake track. By reducing the oil that enters the intake track, you will ultimately have a cleaner intake system but more importantly the oil in the intake track if sucked into the motor can induce detonation.

The Prova Air Oil Separator is a different design type and is a great alternative to an oil catch can. Instead of collecting the oil and letting it pool into a can, the Prova system allows this oil blow by to enter back into the oil system directly via the oil fill tube. This eliminates the problem of overfilling your catch can resulting oil starvation issues due to having collected too much oil in your catch can.

Installation is very straight forward. It will work with your factory Subaru Oil Fill tube and your stock PCV System.

2015 STI fitment confirmed

Overall the product it very good quality. Confirmed to fit on the 15 STI. Had to get a little creative with the hose routing to accommodate the sensor that is not on previous year models.

Prova has used this part on their 24hr Nurburgring endurance race. I had the opportunity to stop by their shop while visiting Japan. This product installs quickly in a 06 STI. Took me about 10 minutes of routing the 2 hoses tightening down the adapter and re-screwing the oil filler cap. Job done!

  • AnswerQ: This VS the Grimmspeed?  DEASubie 7 months ago

This looks even more streamlined and dimple than the Grimmspeed version, but to be perfectly honest I've only been into subaru for 2 years and the turbo versions less than a year and have not really studied all the hoses running everywhere so I'm somewhat lost just looking at a few pics or install videos as the what is going on when hoses are getting cut and rerouted and things are getting capped off. I notice this AOS is similar to the GS AOS, but this one only has the 2 hose fittings VS the GS having 3, what impact does this have? I'm definitely getting the PW IC but I'm still trying to settle on a AOS to get so please help :)

    • A: The Grimmspeed uses three lines because it has two inlets from each breather from the engine, the Prova combines both of these in one. There is no wrong way necessarily, it just depends which brand you wanted to support between the two.

  • AnswerQ: NA 2.5i application query  evaradar 7 months ago

I know this is compatible for NA 2,5i vehicles, however I wanted to know what the drawbacks of installing this are. Also would it be beneficial if for DD use with some light track use? Thanks

    • A: There are no drawbacks to an air oil separator and they will help reduce oil consumption in both street and track applications.

  • AnswerQ: 2015 WRX STI, soon?  breakeard75107 8 months ago

Will this work on the new 2015 WRX STI? Just wondering. I know it is not listed under the compatible. The 2015 STI still uses the same motor.

    • A: Yes, this will fit no issue. As there were no changes on the engine from the previous years.

how do you install it with a FMIC…any write up or videos..or its the same

    • A: The installation with FMIC will be nearly the same as with TMIC, but you may need to extend and reroute some hoses.

  • AnswerQ: Difference on N/A  Impreza09 2 years ago

I have looked at how this is put on the turbo models but what is the difference on the install with this on a 2009 impreza?

    • A: Install will be outlined for different cars in the included instructions. But for the NA cars it should be about the same.
