Excellent kit - few details

Install was easy, considering. Minor modification to the rear brake shield was required. Instructions provided in mine (not bought from RSD) were in Japanese. Torque specs still in english though. Clearance on some rims is an issue. I have a set of enkei's that clear the calipers by mm's.

  • AnswerQ: Backing plate  jackmayoffer59801 2 years ago

What does it mean when they say When mounting, you must machine the genuine disc back plate?

    • A: Due to the size of the rotor and caliper the dust shields that are on the back of the rotors from the factory must be modified to allow for proper fitment of the rotor and caliper due to the larger size.

are the rotors in the picture dual drilled to fit onto the 5x100 bolt pattern for a 2011 wrx?

    • A: The front rotors do appear to be dual drilled but the rears are not. They are designed to work with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. Thank you!

Will it clear the stock bbs wheel on the 08 sti?

    • A: No, I would think you would need an 18inch wheel with a good amount of clearance between the spokes and calipers. Some wheel manufactures call this a high disc setup, specific for optimal clearance with big brakes.
