AEM Intake Systems are designed to produce massive horsepower and torque gains as well as better engine sound when used as a replacement for the factory airbox and air filter. AEM intake systems are designed, tuned, and dyno-tested to fit specific cars and trucks.

These kits usually include an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for optimum air flow, filtration, and performance while allowing easy oil-free cleaning. Most AEM intake systems use mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubes, powder coated heat shields, and high quality hardware designed to reduce restriction and reduce intake temperature.

I needed to get an upgrade from the oem intake and I decided to go with this beauty! I don't regret this at all! I did not like taking the oem intake off though. I did not like removing the oem intake because I had to remove the splash guard/lining under the wheel well to remove the resonator box. Luckily for me I work at a dealership and I was able to lift the vehicle to work on it that way instead of just using jack stands. Other than that installing the AEM intake was a breeze. As soon as I got on the road I noticed and immediate difference! I could hear the turbo spool up really well, it sounded way louder, and I could actually hear the OEM BOV clearly! All of that was so much louder and sounded 100x better! Two last great thing about this besides its appearance (it's so nice) is that it did Not cause a Check engine light and it is a K&N filter head! Very very pleased with this and would recommend this to anyone looking to get a short ram intake!

Good stuff

Works and fits well in my STi swapped GC. I ended up having to extend the MAF sensor wiring to accommodate its placement on this intake, but that's par for the course when doing a swap.

Noticeable sound change!! BOV is much louder. Exhaust tone a bit deeper. Cleans up all that factory plastic under the hood. Easy to install!!! Must buy if your looking to blow some cash!

Will this fit on a 2002 wrx with with a perrin fmic?

    • A: We can't confirm fitment with aftermarket front mounts as the piping may get in the way.

Would this require me to take off the air duct?

  • AnswerQ: Tune  JamesCarroll 3 years ago

How would I require a tune for this? And would it injure the car in anyway with out one?

    • A: A tune is not required, but recommended to get the best results. Running without a tune on this intake should not have any negative effect on the vehicle.
