This is Whiteline’s 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar for 2008+ Subaru WRX/STI, among other models. This is a 3-hole adjustable sway bar which allows trimming of oversteer/understeer through varying the sway bars ability to resist weight transfer via increasing or decreasing the effective arm length of the sway bars mounting position.

Depending on your driving style and feel, you can actually adjust one side at the “hardest” position, and set the other side at the “softest” position to achieve your desired effects. Included with this sway bar will be the support braces as well.

A bigger rear sway bar will give you more oversteer.

Please note that on the Subaru Legacy models, the bar will need to be flipped upside down for better clearance of the spare tire well

The vehicle is used for a combination of urban, suburban and freeway as a daily driver. The stock suspension is too imprecise and cannot keep up with the powertrain. I have installed steering bushings and the 22mm rear bar to improve control. I initially ordered a 20mm bar because I was concerned about excessive oversteer. It was out of stock so I upgraded to the 22mm bar and have it set on the softest setting. The result is a significant improvement and flatter, more neutral handling. I will probably upgrade to the 24mm front at a later date, but it is not necessary.

Helped eliminate much of the body roll in the rear. The car feels more stable and confident in and out of corners. Great improvement compared to the stock sway.

  • AnswerQ: 2008 OBS  CarsonH 23 days ago

Will this bar fit a 2008 Impreza Outback Sport? The car doesn't came with a bar out of the factory so will I need anything else besides this kit?

    • A: This bar is not confirmed for the 08' Impreza Outback Sport and you would need some additional parts in order to mount it.

      Tyler.G 22 days ago

    • A: Hi CarsonH, We do not have any sway bar kits confirmed for the 2008 Impreza Outback Sport. We do have two sway bar kit's specifically designed for Impreza's that did not come with the rear sway abr from the factory as part numbers BSR51Z and BSR51XZ, but there has not been any testing of this bar on the Outback Sport. I hope this helps.

  • AnswerQ: Stock endlinks  shireyb08 2 months ago

Will this work without aftermarket end links? I'd like to install the swaybar and buy the endlinks later.

    • A: Stock endlinks can be used, but we advise you to install the bar with aftermarket endlinks. The stock endlinks are prone to bending and breaking when installed with a stiffer aftermarket sway bar.

  • AnswerQ: 2013 Legacy Limited 19mm RSB  talkovich 2 months ago

Hi, I've installed the 19mm Subaru RSB, would the Whiteline Rear Sway Bar 22mm be a BIG improvement? The 19mm upgrade didn't wow me.

    • A: This 22mm rear sway bar would be a nice improvement over a 19mm sway bar.

      Chris W. 2 months ago

    • A: A generic sway bar conversion chart would estimate the increased rigidity of the 22 mm bar to be about 80% stiffer then the 19 mm. It's be safe to assume that most individuals would find this to be a rather noticeable difference in performance.

  • AnswerQ: Whiteline BSR49Zx 2007 LGT fitment  UnderOath 4 months ago

Will this fit a 2007 Legacy GT. I am interested in the Whiteline BSK011 Kit in which the BSR 49ZX is included for the rear but I want to confirm fitment.

    • A: We cannot confirm fitment of BSR 49ZX on a 2007 Legacy GT. If you would like any recommendations with sway bars that will fit, please contact our customer service!

      Chris W. 4 months ago

    • A: Hi UnderOath, The BSR49 family of sway bars is not designed to work with the 2007 Legacy. The correct rear bars for this model Legacy would be the BSR39 family. The correct sway bar kit is also BSK014.

  • AnswerQ: 2011 premium.  ssssssantimonio 7 months ago

will this fit a 2011 2.5i premium hatch?

    • A: If your car came with a rear sway bar from the factory, then this can be used as a replacement.

      Zach G. 7 months ago

    • A: Hi Ssssssantimonio, This sway bar kit (BSR49XZ) would be correct fitment for any 2011 Impreza that came from the OE manufacturer with a rear sway bar installed. To the best of my knowledge this includes you Premium trim Impreza as I believe only the base model's did not include a rear sway bar.
