The fuel pump whether by itself or additional pumps, are internally mounted to an externally mounted anti surge vessel crafted from 6061 aluminum. This is not an in-tank system, as the vessel is made to be mounted above the transmission cross member.

This system was designed to allow altered fuel systems to contain high fuel flow while employing larger fuel pumps and injectors.

The double pump systems come complete with all the necessary fuel lines and components for a complete installation. This includes assembled wiring harnesses, where two wires will need to be soldered for an easy installation.

I have this set up in my 2014 wrx. The unit is awesome. I tried to get this without the pumps because dw pumps are not very solid pieces. However that wasn't possible. So I decided to run them since I payed for them. Install was pretty straight forward. The one of the pumps ended up failing within 2 months and less than 3000 miles effectively stopping me from running at the air strip attack this last weekend. I will be replacing them both with a good brand pump.

After looking at many alternatives to surge tanks for my 08 STi, I didn't want anything in the cabin. I value my cargo space and interior comfort, so chopping up the hatch was not an option. Along came the PW unit and I was instantly sold on the location of the install, and the apparent quality of the construction. The ease of switching to a dual pump or single was nice, as well as the included wiring and hoses. This is truly a plug and play setup! A few cons: 1. There is significant pump noise, much more audible than my in-tank Walbro 255. It's loud at startup (understandable), but even when idling I can still hear it. It doesn't really bother me though, and it's nice to hear its still operating :) 2. The DW300 pumps are junk. They do NOT have a proven track record with E85 fuel. I decided to buy it anyway and hope for the best. After 500 miles with E85 both pumps are now dead. Should have swapped in the Walbro 460 pump from the start. Pros: 1. Ease of setup. Instructions were fairly straight forward, although with the double pump setup there are a few things missing. Process West was very responsive in helping me figure it out. For the double pump we ran both fuel pump outputs into a y-block before entering the fuel rail. Easy setup, but just be aware of this. PW said you could feed the rails individually, but I do not like that approach as fuel pressure could be variable between each side of the rails, which could lead to inaccurate AFR readings. 2. Construction is impeccable. This thing could probably stop a bullet. I was worried about how close it sits to the front axle, and it is uncovered by the undertray in the car. But I have no doubt this thing is so solid. Even the mounting is incredibly solid, no budge at all. 3. Wiring is pretty plug and play and is setup for safety. In regards to the failed DW300 pumps, I reached out to PW and they have been very helpful in setting up replacement pumps. If I were starting over, I would love to see a pumpless kit, or Walbro offerings. Either a single Walbro 460 or 255, which are both proven with E85.

    Can you get this unit without pumps, or with a bigger and e85 friendly dual pump setup?

    • A: Process West surge tanks are not available without pumps and they currently do not offer them with any other fuel pumps.
