Not Exactly Needed for TGV Deletes...
mbflinn 3 years ago
I had to replace the OEM intake manifold-to-TGV o-rings on my 2008 WRX, and in doing so, did a TGV delete. After a discussion with the RSD online chat support, I was incorrectly led to believe that these were what I needed in order to replace the intake manifold o-rings, as the RSD support guy I talked to told me he had never heard of intake manifold o-rings. So I bought these gaskets. Of course, they were not what I needed, and luckily I was able to track down a part number for what I did need. Too lazy to return them for what they cost so they will probably just sit unopened on my floor. I didn't even need them to do the TGV delete, as there are no factory gaskets in that location anyway, just the intake manifold o-rings. You probably wouldn't need these for a TGV delete unless you scrapped your manifold o-rings. Gaskets appear to be typical amazing GrimmSpeed quality, docked one star for incorrect support from RSD, which I'm certain is not the norm.

Q: 08-14 WRX with stock intake manifold subarman 3 months agoAnswer
I spoke with Grimmspeed and I think this product may be erroneously labeled as compatible fitment for the 08-14 WRX with the stock black plastic manifold, they are apparently designed for use with the metal intake manifolds. As mbflinn reports above, you need an O-ring from Subaru; I believe the OEM part number is 14035AA491. RSD, please look into this further because the product description suggests otherwise. Even Grimmspeed seems confused. Can anyone verify the discrepancy here?
A: We have reached out to Grimmspeed regarding your question and they have responded that GRM 023001, the intake manifold to TGV gasket is only recommended for use on metal intake manifolds (ie 02-07 WRX, 04-16 STi, etc). We recommend that anyone running a plastic intake manifold on their turbo Subaru use the OEM o-rings from Subaru. Please let us know if you have any other questions and have a nice day!

Q: O-ring or gasket ? blake.foley33 2 years agoAnswer
On the stock manifold there are 2 o-rings on each side so does this gasket go in tandom with that or is it just the o-rings that are needed ?
A: I would recommend using the OEM Subaru O rings rather than these gaskets. Mike
