The Type II lower arm bar is made of tubular aluminum to help reduce weight over the stock bracing without compromising strength. Coated in the classic Cusco blue paint, it offers years of protection against the elements while adding to the overall look of the bar. The Type II bar is a multi-point setup and includes all the required hardware for installation. It bolts on easily using normal hand tools.

Note: Fits turbo models only

This is a top-5 item for handling improvement!
DaveinNorCal 3 years ago
Hard to say any more than what's been said. Great product. The whiteline seems stouter, but this is a tremendous improvement over stock and has the additional stout mounts. I would put this product in the top-5 must-do handling improvements, it's relatively cheap and feel like it ties the whole front together.

No significant difference

I installed this on a 11' WRX that already has multiple bushing replacements, a stiffer front sway bar, and RCE yellow struts and springs. The H brace is really light, as in you could bend it by hand (aluminum). The smaller triangles are 100% better than oem though (thick steal). I didn't see any major handling difference at all personally. Looks great and fairly easy to install, just not worth the money IMO.

Nice addition!

This brace is very light weight and super easy to install. A nice addition to complete better initial turn in and sensitivity to steering input. I recommend the steering rack bushings to compliment this addition. I did not have to remove any plastic covers underneath the car. I'm using a catted invidia downpipe. It fits very well with no clearance issues at all.

Awesome part, Cusco FTW, I have almost the entire Cusco Bracing Line and Cusco Sways and Endlinks on my car and like all Cusco products they are top of the line great craftsmanship. My next purchase will be the Cusco Lateral Links, almost done modding out my 2012 STI Suspension, THANKS RSD

  • AnswerQ: What is the difference between type 1 and type 2  AChan 4 months ago

Can you let me know which one is better for my 08 sti hatch? Is it true that if using the type 2, the engine undercover can't be installed back to the car?

    • A: The type 1 only offered the stiffening front to back while the type 2 connects the left and right side of the car. The Type 2 offers more rigidity than the Type 1. The OEM engine cover can still be used with either.

    • A: I see, how about the cusco power brace crossmember(CUS 692-492-M), do they have the same function?

  • AnswerQ: Bushings?  Jay11259202100 11 months ago

Is this just direct bolt on without using bushings?

    • A: This is a direct bolt-on brace, and no bushings are used on the brace.

  • AnswerQ: Compatible with Whiteline KBR14?  evaradar 11 months ago

I have the Whiteline KBR14 installed on my car, but wanted to know if the Cusco lower arm bar will interfere with the Whiteline KBR14 brace. Thanks

    • A: This will not work with the KBR14 installed.

  • AnswerQ: Will this fit a 2015 WRX STI?  Db8typer 1 year ago

Hello I was just wondering if this will fit a 15 WRX STI? Thanks!

    • A: This will not fit a 2015 STi. The 2015 is a little different from the 2008-2014 STi.

  • AnswerQ: Control arms pictured  m.budd80596 2 years ago

Wondering what the part number was for those control arms and if they would fit a 13 WRX hatch?

    • A: All of the photos on this page are of OEM control arms.
