The COBB 3-Port Boost Solenoid (BCS) is an excellent upgrade for modern turbocharged vehicles, enabling precise boost control in a tidy package that is easy to install and tune. This BCS will eliminate boost fluctuations and boost creep inherent in the OEM boost control system, providing stable and repeatable boost control to base the vehicle's tune on. It is equally capable of providing this stable boost control at stock boost levels as well as extremely high boost levels associated with big-power builds.

The COBB Tuning 3-Port BCS features 1/8" low-profile barb fittings to keep the unit compact and are nickel coated for corrosion resistance. Optional 1/4" nickel plated fittings are also available separately. Viton spools and seals are used throughout for long life and lubricated with Dow Corning silicone grease. The manual override is sealed with an O-ring, the wiring harness is sealed to the casing using a waterproof grommet and the solenoid wires are ultrasonically welded to the coil, making the device waterproof and safe to wash. The BCS is rated to operate up to 120psi.

COBB Tuning has made the COBB 3-Port BCS installation as simple as possible. It mounts in the stock location and plugs directly into the stock wiring harness, making the physical install and electrical connection as simple as possible. The BCS comes with a custom aluminum mounting bracket, stainless steel hardware, boost-line to complete all connections and zip-ties to route the boost-line neatly through the engine bay. Installation Instructions are provided, are easy to understand, and provide routing instructions for both internal and external wastegate configurations.

Precise, Solid Boost Control With Fun Wooshy Sounds
mstrnlkr 2 months ago
I recently purchased this boost controller along with the Cobb AccessPort V3 stage 1 package (with Cobb drop-in filter) for my 2002 WRX. I used to have boost hunting issues on the car, especially on colder days. I would see a slight overboost followed by wastegate pressure followed by another overboost followed again by wastegate pressure. The car could never precisely dial in to its target boost pressure, so I was on a wild goose chase looking for leaks in the system. After installing the Cobb air filter, AccessPort (with Stage 1 91oct +ebcs map), and the 3-port EBCS (a surprisingly easy 30 minute install), there is a night and day difference in boost control. I am consistently hitting target boost on the nose with no fluctuations. This is, without a doubt, one of the best mods I have installed on this car. I absolutely love it. I don't know if it's the new Cobb filter, the EBCS, or a combination of the two, but the spool and blow off sounds are noticeably clearer and more present now. Everybody likes turbo sounds! Anybody looking to move from stock to stage 1, 2, or beyond should absolutely consider spending the extra dollars for this 3-port solenoid.

Really should have bought this a long time ago.

Easy install with the new hose included. Once you remove your stock solenoid and look at the two you will know you made the right choice. One looks like a toy, and the other like a well designed and machined purposed built item. Since installing this I haven't seen boost fluctuate on my AccessPORT by more that 0.2 psi under numerous WOT pulls. Honestly one of the best $100 investments I've made for my WRX. It can handle any future mods I will ever want to go for as well.

A lot better boost response and better boost control.

Best Upgrade For The Money, Period!

I can't imagine a better way to spend $100. The install in my 02 WRX was less than graceful since some of the rubber lines had actually hardened and fused to the connection points. But I was patient and they eventually wiggled free. Once the old stuff was out it was simple with the instructions on the COBB tuning website. Overall it took about 20 min and was still the easiest install of anything I have done to date. After I was done I hooked my COBB AP to my laptop and downloaded the new map. The change was instantly obvious. A stronger and more consistent pull from launch to top speed. Hands down the best $100 I have spent on my car to date.

Super easy to install and gives you better boost control. Took me about 10 mins to install and eliminates my boost spike and holds 23 lbs with ease.

Im going EWG and I'm wondering if i can just buy this. i noticed you had an EWG add on, and wasn't sure if i had to include that too.

    • A: If running this with an EWG setup you will want to run 1/4 inch fittings instead of the 1/8 inch fittings which is what the EWG kit does. It converts the 1/8in fittings to 1/4in fittings for better control of external wastegate setup.

  • AnswerQ: 2006 WRX  Fernando C. 18 days ago

If I buy this and the v3 accessport and run stage 1 will I have to have it pro tuned? Or will running stage 1 be enough?

    • A: COBB Does list an EBCS map available for download on their website which would have to be used with this EBCS.

  • AnswerQ: What map should I run?  michaelaaustin073196 2 months ago

I have a 2012 WRX base model which only has a magnaflow exhaust system on it. What map should I run on my Cobb v3 to get a good tune out of it or will I need a pro tune?

    • A: COBB Does not have an EBCS map for your vehicle and you would need a pro-tune.

  • AnswerQ: Cobb solenoid  Oh_no_sti 2 months ago

How is this solenoid adjustable when I installed it its pushing 26 psi and hitting peak how do I adjust t ?

    • A: Being an electronic unit all adjustments would have to be made through the ECU in tuning.

  • AnswerQ: ecbs and v1 tuner  AP 3 months ago

My buddy wants to sell me his AP v1 for a screamin' deal. Will the new stage 2 ECBS map be compatible with that old school unit?

    • A: This will work with a pro-tune but we could not confirm the old V1 Accessport to work with COBB's more recent OTS maps and that may be a better question for COBB.
