The COBB 3-Port Boost Solenoid (BCS) is an excellent upgrade for modern turbocharged vehicles, enabling precise boost control in a tidy package that is easy to install and tune. This BCS will eliminate boost fluctuations and boost creep inherent in the OEM boost control system, providing stable and repeatable boost control to base the vehicle's tune on. It is equally capable of providing this stable boost control at stock boost levels as well as extremely high boost levels associated with big-power builds.

The COBB Tuning 3-Port BCS features 1/8" low-profile barb fittings to keep the unit compact and are nickel coated for corrosion resistance. Optional 1/4" nickel plated fittings are also available separately. Viton spools and seals are used throughout for long life and lubricated with Dow Corning silicone grease. The manual override is sealed with an O-ring, the wiring harness is sealed to the casing using a waterproof grommet and the solenoid wires are ultrasonically welded to the coil, making the device waterproof and safe to wash. The BCS is rated to operate up to 120psi.

COBB Tuning has made the COBB 3-Port BCS installation as simple as possible. It mounts in the stock location and plugs directly into the stock wiring harness, making the physical install and electrical connection as simple as possible. The BCS comes with a custom aluminum mounting bracket, stainless steel hardware, boost-line to complete all connections and zip-ties to route the boost-line neatly through the engine bay. Installation Instructions are provided, are easy to understand, and provide routing instructions for both internal and external wastegate configurations.

I can't imagine a better way to spend $100. The install in my 02 WRX was less than graceful since some of the rubber lines had actually hardened and fused to the connection points. But I was patient and they eventually wiggled free. Once the old stuff was out it was simple with the instructions on the COBB tuning website. Overall it took about 20 min and was still the easiest install of anything I have done to date. After I was done I hooked my COBB AP to my laptop and downloaded the new map. The change was instantly obvious. A stronger and more consistent pull from launch to top speed. Hands down the best $100 I have spent on my car to date.

I've been modifying my car a little faster than some companies produce parts. I would have really like to have been able to use this part with the AP and a stage 2 tune to really talk about how well this part could have been. I have an 03 WRX with a VF34 and injectors, with a pro-tune on 92oct. I have a lot of issues with peak boost going way to high, and boost flutter with the stock BCS, but this little 3 port piece of magic cured all of my issues, and boost levels are way more accurate!

    i installed this yesterday with the cobb stage 1 + ebcs tune and now i am not even hitting target boost. Any ideas where i went wrong?


    • A: I would double check all connections on the EBCS and the connections on the compressor housing, turbo inlet, and actuator. Often times, problems of this nature can be attributed to the vacuum lines being switched around. For further help diagnosing this issue, please contact us via phone, email, or chat.

    Quick question, I literally just ordered the Cobb Boost Solenoid a few hours ago from your site for my 06 Limited Wagon. It say it requires a tune after install. Now I have a Cobb Accessport V3, I'm tuned stage 2 now. If I install the solenoid and reflash stage 2 again, will that be a sufficient enough tune, or will I need a protune?


    • A: The Cobb OTS maps do not correctly calibrate for an electronic boost control solenoid. You will need a protune.

    I've been reading around and it seems that I won't need a protune because Cobb has a stage 2+ tune for an 03 wrx. I'm currently on a Cobb Stage 2 ots map for 03 wrx. My question is, is this true? Will the stage 2+ be fine running on my car for a while ?


    • A: Cobb recently released an off the shelf EBCS map for 2.0L WRX models, and you can use the Cobb AccessPort EBCS map rather than getting a custom tune.
